Carlos Marmol 2013 Outlook

Does that mean they eat his contract?

Yes.

It's ok. They charge 4.50 for a hotdog, and 7.75 for a cup of Old Style. Oh and $4 for cotton candy, $4 for water...

Sorry, I went to the game Saturday, and after I got a beer and a dog, a clown came out of nowhere and kicked me in the balls.

You'll see a bill from your local insurance provider for a colonoscopy as well.

He'll be a Halo soon, I can feel it...ugh :(

They did attempt to deal Haren for him.

I'm hoping so! Keep him away from the Tigers...

(Is the above post an indication he was dealt? Chicago has their heads under ground/we're still hungover from lastnight... you know, we just won a championship in one sport and all, at least... it could be a lot worse...)

Regardless, as a Cubs fan, I can't imagine what the hell they got if he was in fact dealt. Gregg would seemingly have more value at this point-- no, really...

DFA = designated for assignment.

Wow-remember when people demanded he be the closer for the Cubs because he looked so great coming up? Seems about as long ago as the Cubs' last world championship.

Uh, I know that--hah. I mean, I think we all know that here :P ... wow, I was really hungover I guess lol.

I follow the MLB and am a regular poster on these forums... not to sound ignorant.... I dunno how I missed this ENTIRE post. When I clicked in, I loaded it in the way in which it loads the last post made, which was this:

Parades down Waveland Ave! Rejoice Cubs fans!!!

You're still the Cubs...

I guess I missed that this post was brand new and the 2013 version (or first thread on Marmol) in general, because I guess I thought there already was one from earlier this season. It's funny how far he's fallen, where he has no post even near the ASB and a few years ago he looked like he'd do what Kanley Jensen is currently doing now).

But adding to the confusion, for anyone who has missed it, there was all of this nonsense I kept hearing about a deal being "almost complete" w/ one of 3 teams (ATL was one and I believe one of the other two was DET; the Angels weren't the 3rd team though, I think it was LAD maybe) in the papers for days. And then a false alarm on Twitter that he WAS traded to the Braves, which hopefully didn't screw anyone up (not like it would, at least in this SNAFU... it's Carlos Marmol at least)....as someone on the MLB network said earlier, "even if you don't have Twitter it can mess you up." I feel that way too since I don't have it, but I did get the false news via a text to my dumb alerts on my Chicago news thing for my phone. I guess it didn't circulate much?.... I don't even know who they would have gotten in return, as it was debunked quickly at least.

So I have been out of the loop due to no cable, sporadic 'net, and Hawks fever-- plus these Chicago storms have been nuts where I am-- what do you guys think: Marmol's cut and his salary is ate, or he accepts an AAA assignment and they just hold on at this point? Or have there been any rumors? I know Gregg's been a popular name but I can't see why anyone would want to touch Marmol rigt now. He is just cooked.

Sorry about the confusion from before, though. One last thing-- I think LAD with their money spending ways and bullpen being crap could show a tiny bit of interest in Marmol, if only because Jansen is kind of cut from the same mold... catcher converted to pitcher. I don't think they will, but they're about the only team I could think of who might pursue him. Cubs will probably have to eat all of his deal for the most part if anything is reached with any team, though.

What a quick falloff. Poor Carlos. Cubs pitchers named Carlos expire quickly. :/

LOL @ the dodgers for going after this dude. They actually trying to make their pen worse?

ESPN Chicago's Bruce Levine was told by two sources that the Dodgers are close to acquiring Carlos Marmol from the Cubs.

Just when you thought the Dodgers' pen couldn't get any more exciting! I can't wait till the first time Mattingly gets Marmol'd :)

Maybe their batting practice machine broke down.

LOL

Eh it can't be that. BP pitching requires the ball to go over the plate so the batters can actually hit.
