Help With Draft Strategy

4 posts in this topic

I have a question in regards to what strategy I should take with an upcoming draft I have tomorrow.

It's a 12-man Standard Keeper League, 16 total spots on each roster ( 1 QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1Flex, 1 Kicker, 1 Def, 6 bench )

I am Keeping :

AJ Green ( Round 3 )

Robert Griffin III ( Round 8 )

Ben Tate ( Round 10 )

Due to some trades i made last year, I have 5 picks out of the first 29, including 1st overall, 10th overall, 14th overall, 19th overall

With the first overall pick i have 2 options : Arian Foster OR Calvin Johnson. I am concered with Foster getting hurt and splitting carries this season.

Here is my potential starting rosters depending on who i take :

QB: Robery Griffin III

RB1: Arian Foster

RB2: Demarco Murray

WR1: AJ Green

WR2: Wes Welker

WR3: T.Y. Hilton

FLEX: Lamar Miller

BENCH: Eddie Lacy

BENCH : Ben Tate

OR

QB: Robery Griffin III

RB1: Demarco Murray

RB2: Lamar Miller

WR1: Calvin Johnson

WR2: AJ Green

WR3: Wes Welker

FLEX: Eddie Lacy

BENCH: Chris Ivory

BENCH : Ben Tate

Which strategy would you take? Or would you take a different strategy?

Any help, advice or insight that you could share with me would be awesome!!!

Thank you so much for listening and i look forward to reading some replies!!

When you break it all the way down, I think what you're ultimately comparing is

-Arian Foster & TY Hilton

vs

-Lamar Miller & Calvin Johnson

Personally, I would rather have Option 1 with Foster & Hilton. Yes Foster has been dinged-up, but he was dinged-up last year to and put up spectacular numbers. It would be great to have C.J. & AJ Green, but I really don't like Miller as a #2 running back

I'd go with Option 1:

QB: Robery Griffin III

RB1: Arian Foster

RB2: Demarco Murray

WR1: AJ Green

WR2: Wes Welker

WR3: T.Y. Hilton

FLEX: Lamar Miller

BENCH: Eddie Lacy

BENCH : Ben Tate

Man, both are good options. WOuld you consider drafting Calvin and then trading him for a solid WR and a RB1?

You'd still have AJ green leading your WRs as well as a stud in Wes who should prosper with Manning in Denver.
