Finally Detroit Wins

Mike Goodson 2013 Season Outlook

327 posts in this topic

If guys like Denard Robinson and Joe Webb have outlook pages then so should he.

@AdamSchefter: Jets RB Mike Goodson, embroiled in legal issues this off-season, is expected to report to team in next 24 hours.

I've had my eye on him since a few years ago when he stepped in for Deangelo and Stewart when they were both injured. He's just such a talent guy that is always stuck behind someone.

Last year when DMC got injured he was set to cash in but also got injured in the same game. This year with only Chris Ivory in front of him, I have him on my bench wherever I have space and I can see him having a good season.

Apparently his absence was from going to a well known 30 day rehab in NJ and the jets couldn't publicly speak on it because they're his employer.

Love this guy. Always have. Glad he's on an awful team with an ok offensive line. He'll be the starter by week 3.

I agree he'll over take chad spann and bilal Powell on the depth chart but starter by week three seems strong. People keep sleeping on ivory.

Who knows if this guy has even been working out?! He's definitely not in football shape, I love people jumping the gun on him though.

It's not jumping the gun, I'm so glad someone posted about this.

Ivory is a hack, and he's injury prone/already hurt.

Bilal Powell is also a hack, we have many, many carries to show this.

Goodson at least has some upside as an every down kind of back, not a specialist. It's not like he's behind Adrian Peterson. I'm taking a flier in my deep league where I'm starved for RBs.

NFL suspended Jets RB Mike Goodson four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

That was quick.

On another note, loving the Jets this year.

lol, right? Just gets out of rehab. "Starter by week 3."

Instantly suspended for 4 games. Can't make this stuff up.

Hah! Guess I was wrong here. Forgot about the looming suspension. Good thing i didn't pull the trigger on him.

The Jets are sticking with this guy - even with a 4-game suspension. Yeah, sounds like this guy will have work to do when his suspension is over. There's a reason the Jets are sticking with him. Somebody is optimistic on what this guy can do.

Yup. I think he takes the job but obviously my week 3 prediction is way off. Didn't anticipate the suspension. But I think he gets it. Let's be real, Bilal Powell and Chris Ivory aren't really competent running backs.

Did this clown even play in any preseason games? Maybe its a retarded question, but that gets to show you that I dont follow the jets at all its bad enough the media tries to force it down our throats

So, will Goodson start when he comes back, or at least be involved? He has to be better than what they already have.

He'll be eased in I'm sure and probably a little rusty but I feel he'll be the starter soon enough.

He's better than Ivory and Powell combined. He's suspended and not injured so I'm willing to bet he's in shape, not game shape of course but in shape. I can see him taking over by week 7 at the latest, especially since he's a pass catching back in a passing offense.

I agree. Comes back week 5 to play and by week 7 he'll be taking over. I'm in dire need of a RB and I'm wondering if I should just make the move now and hold him.

I'm in a 16 team and I am waiting. I would imagine you could do the same in a 12.

Yeah, I don't think he's on too many people's radars. I'll prob make the move after week 3.

All the Ivory sucks posts, he was hurt all preseason and played in 1 game (against the #1 rush D in 2012). Almost every RB in the league sucked week 1 too.

I'm giving him more time before I throw in the towel, I know he's fragile but he's been a beast when he's gotten playing time in the past.

There were one or two runs last year where I thought Ivory was a beast. Is that enough sample size?
