The "Ask v0dka" Thread.

Recommended Posts

I'll use this thread for anyone to post any draft, trade proposal or waiver questions and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge. I put a lot of thought and research into each question and hopefully I can help some of you win your leagues throughout the year.

The reason I'm making a thread for this is that I'd like to go back and see how accurate my advice has been for everyone and it's a lot easier to just look in a single thread as opposed to several.

Better Season in .5PPR: Andre Robert or Jonathon Dwyer?

Tough to say. Roberts finished last season with 64 catches, 759 yards and five touchdowns while playing alongside garbage quarterbacks. Dwyer could get an opportunity as Pittsburgh's No. 1 back early on.

I'd have to roll the dice on Dwyer having the better season right now.

ppr dynasty: montee ball or demarco murray?

Murray. I, personally, haven't labeled him as an 'injury risk' as others have. I think he has just been unlucky. He has never suffered a major injury or anything, just constant bumps and bruises. If he can stay healthy, he's got top 10 RB potential.

Trade Rice/Thompkins for Reggie Bush/Colston in a PPR? Would have 3 Lions players (Stafford/Megatron/Bush) and 2 Saints players (Graham/Colston)

What would be your strategy in a 16 team draft?

Without knowing your league settings (PPR, standard, keeper, dynasty, etc) I wouldn't even begin thinking about a QB until at least the 5th round. RB's are golden in a league this deep, I'd want back to back RB's if possible with my first two picks. WR is easier to fill in the later rounds.

10 team PPR Auction league with all TDs 6 points. First year of a tiered keeper league where you can keep the following players next year:

Two $1-$5 players for $5

One $6-$10 player for $10

One $11-$20 player for $20

One $21-$40 player for $40

Keeping a player for subsequent years will bump them into the next tier. Once players are dropped they lose keeper eligibility, and FA pickups are not keeper eligible. I am trying to figure out if Lattimore is worth stashing all year at $1 making him a $5 keeper next year.

We start QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, 2 RB/WR/TE, D/ST, K

My team:

QB: Stafford

RB: Martin, Charles, Vereen, Tate, A. Brown, B. Brown, Hillman, Lattimore

WR: Cobb, Amendola, M. Austin, J. Gordon, K. Thompkins

TE: Cook

D/ST: Ravens

K: Bailey

Thanks!

Another thing is not to underestimate the value of a kicker or defense in leagues that are this deep either. A good defense and kicker can be a difference maker as your streaming options run thin. I would grab a good defense in the middle to late rounds.

You've got a solid QB core, wouldn't worry much there. When Fred Davis is your starting TE, I think that is a cause for concern.

I don't like Davis at all. RG3 just doesn't throw to his TE's much. Is Philly's Zach Ertz available? I'd add him to my watch list.

It's a good team. I don't like the Sproles pick at 33 in a standard format, but you rebounded that pick with snatching Daryl Richardson in the 8th.

Who do you like better out of Patton and Baldwin and also what about Keenan Allen? How would you rank these receivers?

I'm desperate for WR help.

Thompkins is on waivers-- we get 80$ for waiver pick-ups, and it resets in week 4, 8, and 12.

He is by far the best available, imo. Thoughts on how much I should put down? I originally thought about 25$, but as days go by, and his stock keeps increasing, I'm getting more and more paranoid.

Obviously, it's not smart to go all 80$, just in case my kicker (or something fluky like that) goes down and I need to hit waivers. Minimum is 5$.

Thoughts? I'm hearing 61$ might be worth it.
