Da'Rel Scott 2013 Season Outlook

128 posts in this topic

Been a lot of talk about Michael Cox and Michael Turner (who isn't even on the team), but Scott is the Giants #2 behind David Wilson.

He'll likely get the carries Andre Brown would have otherwise received. Nobody really knew who Brown was until injury struck the Giants last year; Scott may be the 2013 edition. There a reason why nobody is talking about him? Wilson is not going to be a 20+ carry/game guy.

I was actually thinking about him the other day after Brown's injury. There was some hype around him last year as a sleeper but he never did much. Maybe he'll seize this opportunity. I think Wilson is the truth though.

Brown was on my bench, and I picked up michael cox after andre brown went down the other night. Cox has already been named the kick returner, Scott will most likely get hurt like he always does.

His value just got a boost too. Andre Brown placed on IR/designated to return. Earliest return date is Week 8.

Wow, expect all the people that drafted Brown to drop him now. Waiting 8 weeks with a dead roster spot not a fun thing to do. Especially for a backup RB.

A source tells NFL Network that the Giants will wait and see how Da'Rel Scott performs Sunday before considering a veteran addition at running back.

It's notable for two reasons. First, it suggests that Scott is ahead of Michael Cox in the battle to back up explosive workhorse David Wilson. Second, it confirms that the Giants don't want to sign a veteran like Jonathan Dwyer or Beanie Wells before Week 1 because they would then have to guarantee their contract for the whole year. Wilson owners looking for a handcuff are trapped in wait-and-see mode. We're highly skeptical Scott can be anything more than a change-of-pace scatback.

Da'Rel is guaranteed to get hurt and lose out to Michael Cox. If not that a veteran will come in and take the spot over both.

13 career touches for 38 yards, and most importantly, 1 fumble.

5'11" and 210 pounds (compared to Wilsons 5'9" and 205

He doesn't have the size, in limited touches a fumble that is likely still not forgotten by coach TC...

It's all Wilson, or they will bring someone in if he can't handle the load.

They're definitely going to add someone. But for the time being, Scott should have some value

Michael Turner will be a Giant tomorrow.

I'm sure the immortal Kregg Lumpkin gets a look too.

TC loves to bench guys with fumblitis....I think he could hold some value for a week or two in a deep league as a flex guy for a team who lost a Vereen type in week 1. That's about it.
