Matt Prater 2013 Season Outlook

53 posts in this topic

If "Legatron" has a 40 page thread, this guy deserves his own too...

Kickers are the black sheep of fantasy, but the points Prater has been putting up this season are a big difference maker. When your kicker is capable of putting up 15+ points any given week, you have a clear advantage...Prater is the Jimmy Graham of kickers. :D

Now we just need to come up with a clever nickname for him...

He made me lose because he phucking scored 17 phucking points. Such BS. The only reason my opponent had him was because of autopick too, the guy just phucking got lucky and didn't even know he was getting a good kicker.

Really hate the luck involved in fantasy wish it could be all skill

It's amazing to look at your scoresheet every week and see 14 points from your kicker. This cat is a beast.

indeed

only reason I am down 4pts.. 1 player(tony g or danny w) left vs 2 de and defboth (jets)

my break again... lost by 4 last week, prolly lose again by 4

thanks matt!

Great kicker and the stupid 40 page thread on the other guy is just downright irritating.

Huge reason why I beat my teams. He is more reliable than RB2 or even some of my WR. Double digit points, tons of PATs and you can count on him for long range shots. I have a kicker I actually never want to drop.

THE best and most consistent player on my team. I'd almost win a game if I had one more like him.

Anyone else worried that Prater will only get 5 pts this week? One for each PAT against the Jags?

When they bench players and only run the ball, he should get some looks

It is the year of the kicker! Pretty sad when on a weekly basis your kicker puts up more points then your Number 2 WR

5 XPA? I'll take the over. He could lead all kickers this week in fantasypoints with just extra point attempts.

Last years real "leg" was Lawrence Tynes.

This year goes to Prater. Glad I have him as well.

I'm actually thinking about trading for Prater. I don't even have any idea how to assess his value in a trade, but all I know is I want this guy on my roster. So far his lead as K1 isn't Graham or Peyton-like, but I think it will be by the end of the season.

No way I would do that. There is not a lot of point spread between the kickers YTD. Just find one that is fairly consistent or stream them week to week.

Guy has been ridiculous this year. I wouldn't count on him averaging quite this much the rest of the way, but he's got a huge leg, is accurate, and is on arguably the greatest offense of all-time. At the very least it should dispel the myth that kickers don't matter and are all the same.

Maybe he won't put up 15 - 18 points per week, but I feel that 8 - 12 is very doable for him week in and week out. Everything is right for him.

He plays in Denver where the ball will float

He is accurate from far away

He will get PAT looks

He is clutch

He got me more points this week than my RB2 and WR2 combined.

I love Prater.

I think that teams are going to be slowing down the Broncos a little more often now. Which means good things for people who own him.

I'm saving waiver priority just in case the owner is an idiot and drops him for a bye week replacement.
