Brandon Bostick 2013 Season Outlook

29 posts in this topic

Hope Jermichael Finley gets well soon. His injury opens the door for Bostick, a former college wide receiver and basketball player. He is the more likely candidate (over Andrew Quarless) to run those seam-stretching routes Finley ran.

Several teams asked the Packers about Bostick's availability for trade after the pre-season as well.

Quarless is not rosterable. He can't catch and is mostly a blocker. With James Jones out again, Bostick is definitely going to be utilized in the passing game this week and his ROS outlook can only be positive, as his snaps and touches are sure to go up each week.

I want to start him, but just think it is way to risky given we have no idea how much playing time he will actually get.

As a Finley owner in a deep league I picked up both Quarless and Bostick this morning - - not sure who I start yet but I'm thinking Bostick *might* be the better play ROS. Not too sure though.

Not worth a start this week IMO as it's too risky of a play until wee see how things shake out. Definitely roster-able though, especially in dynasty. I suspect the Pack will draft a tight end next year to replace Finley but Bostick is definitely on my year-end "guys to target for next year" list.

One thing I was reading this morning (don't have a link) that makes me think Bostick is the guy you want -- it was a local news website talking about Packers last week frequently running their formation of 2 TE and 2 WR. They mentioned Quarless and Finley in the formation. This tells me Quarless was already playing his role, I don't see them moving him over to suddenly stop blocking and start catching passes. No, I believe Bostick will slide in to the Finley role and Quarless remains the blocking specialist that he is.

I've got a league I'm pretty much done in. I picked up Bostic and am starting him as a bye week fill in so if Bostick goes off, I will look like a genius!

If you have roster space and/or are hurting at TE he's worth a flier, but I wouldn't start him this week unless you absolutely had to.

Quareless played 59 snaps compared to Bostick's 29, so I wouldn't pick him up and start him unless its a deep league.

Yeah saw that he was out played on number of snaps but he out played quarless in the amount. Not a trend yet but heading that way? Especially with Finley possibly done in GB?

Honestly if Rodgers was the qb I would pick him up, but I just can't trust thst offense right now enough to grab him. I'm interested in seeing how he does and his snap counts in the next few weeks though

I agree with u but I have a feeling he has a big game and the cats with the higher waiver claims snatch him up. I tempted to roster him before ARod comes back and ish hits the fan.

My thoughts exactly. Preemptive moves are the way to go especially with the news Finley is done and Rodgers is coming back soon. I see nothing but upside with this guy.

he actually did his damage with tolzien last week so maybe there is something there now?

At this time of the year, it just seems really hard to trust a guy like Bostick, granted he's in a much better situation that say, Tim Wright. Seems like once you finally rack up the courage to start him, he'll give you 1 point.

I guess it really depends on how badly you need a te. If tony g doesn't play than I'll probably have to pick him up out of desperation

Completely agree. For those of us who missed out on Julius Thomas, Jordan Cameron, and now Jordan Reed, this guy is the next best thing. He's supposedly one of these so-called move tight ends who stretch the field and of course is also a former basketball player. (I guess this is what I'm going to look for in next year's draft.) If you're looking for help and are disappointed by your current TE (Greg Olsen owners, I'm talking to you), why not take a stab at this guy? I think he provides way more upside than the Delanie Walker, John Carlson, Scott Chandler, Garret Graham, etc. That's who most of us are looking at so late in the season. Take a chance and hope you hit waiver wire gold!

Bostick is 6-3, 250 lbs and runs a 4.5 40.... That would have ranked him first or* second for TE in this years combine if I remember correctly. Not bad for an undrafted player... His hands work too as he caught every pass this week. I'm pretty excited about this dude and since I'm stuck with Clay (Who's been awful for the past 3 or 4 weeks) I think I'm rolling the dice on Bostick this week.

His measurable don't mean a hill of beans if he isn't on the field for significant snap counts. You have to be on the field to make plays and accumulate stats. Week 10--Quarless 58 plays, Bostick 29. Week 9 Quarless 42, Bostick 15, Week 8 Quarless 52, Bostick 26.

Is he a better choice than Tim Wright at this point??

Tolzien should have been practicing with him…Right? Anyone see a chemistry?

He had at least two of his catches last week with tolzien one being the TD. better? Not sure but I feel like bostick can get at least one catch which is what I got out of Cameron two weeks ago and what I got from wright last week.
