Your Best 2014 Mock Drafts

Recommended Posts

I find both men to be totally unappealing, but if I gotta take one it'd be Bowe.

12 team PPR

Cant get no Better than this.

I've used that program multiple times and I'm amazed your players were available. Never seen Lacy drop to the 9th, and Ball, Rogers and Allen are all super rare at those spots.

The one thing I can never decide is gambling around pick 105-110. Usually Bowe and Nicks are available. Both these guys could see a heavy does of targets this year and could be a steal in this round. A change of scenery could really help Nicks, along with an accurate QB - lol. Bowe on the other hand supposedly got in actual shape for this year and may even try to run some decent routes out there.

Who has more upside? Who would you draft? One of these guys could turn out to be a solid flex play this year.

I generally follow the rule of thumb that if given the choice between a team's #1 WR and another teams #2 (or lower) WR, I side with the clear #1.

Bowe has no competition as the #1 except for from a (de facto) rookie TE, Donnie Avery, and the targets that JC takes from the passing game. Even if this is going to be a conservative offense, they have to pass eventually and Jamaal can't be targeted on every single play.

Nicks has to compete with Reggie Wayne, TY Hilton, two pass-catching TEs, and a stable of RBs that can pass-catch. Add into this that Chuck/Pep's offensive scheme is obscenely conservative.

I think Nicks can have a good year, but Bowe has a better situation.

I just thought I'd do a "real" draft on ESPN to better mimic my draft day situation. As it turns out it was worse than the randoms you get in the mocks there...not in love with the QB, but I was the last one to pick a QB and everyone else was taking their handcuffs, second D/ST, and third QBs so I decided it was good to grab Romo before I fell into the Eli Manning/Josh McCown tier of QBs as my starter. My D/ST isn't great either, but I think they're worth a shot for a few weeks given their matchups.

My thought with this one was to test the viability of going TE/TE, but it quickly devolved into a joke when Ball slipped to me in the 3rd and the first D/ST came off the board at 49th overall. Over highlights from this band of brain surgeons was: RG3 at 4th overall, Percy Harvin at 74, Miles Austin at 52, and Russell Wilson at 23. So, this is literally the most useless draft ever and it was like I drafted a 6 person league.

Wait til you get to my bench RBs...I'll throw the picks that I got those guys just for lulz...I literally HAD to take some of them

QB Romo

RB Ball

RB Ellington

WR K. Allen

WR. M. Wallace

TE Jimmy Graham

FLEX R. Gronkowski

D/ST Steelers

K Hauschka

Bench:

RB Gerhart, JAX (Pick 63)

RB Mathews, SD (Pick 87)

WR Justin Hunter, TEN (Pick 111)

WR Kelvin Benjamin, CAR (Pick 135)

RB Lamar Miller, MIA (Pick 154)

WR Doug Baldwin, SEA (Pick 159)

RB James White, NE (Pick 178)

have been going WR heavy lately if given the opportunity to get any 2 of the following*, and went a little overboard here, but i'd still take it. 12 team standard

if i'm somehow picking super early and miss out of any of these WRs, i'm not a huge fan of my team most of the time

*megatron, DT, bmarsh, dez, AJ, julio, jordy

But thst simply means your serviceable at RB, and have power elsewhere. No team starts off amazing at all levels, when you go RBRB, you'd be weak somewhere else. That's just the give and take factor of it all.

You can't take mock results seriously. There's always 1 or 2 mock drafters who don't take it seriously and ruin everyone else's drafts.

Just went through 2 official drafts, using this strategy in the first one, I got a STACKED team but stuck with Cutler as my starter.

Second draft i panicked and picked Luck in the 6th round and honestly I like my first team better.
