velo is wayyyyy down...

Yup - I'm watching, topping out at 93, and sitting 91. Previously this season the only time I'd see him 91-93 is when he tries to steal a first pitch strike. He just hit 95 to Joyce, awful location though - belt high/zero life.

He's climbing up - hit 95 and 97 to Molina. His offspeed stuff looks good, he's really battling his FB command today though.

Sorry guys. I picked this idiot up and today is the first start he's making for me. Can't get through the Rays, isn't worth owning. I'm adding Hahn for him ASAP

He can still get a QS out of this (or better). 2 R, 6/7 IP works just fine.

One "bad" inning so far and it's just 2 runs. Let's step off the ledge unless we see another inning of this.

yeah was encouraging to see that to Molina but I'm nervous for the next inning...

Gausman doesn't look right at all - O's broadcast catching onto it as well.

His mechanics are all over the place, velocity down, command all over the place - pulling a lot of FBs, now offspeed stuff is sailing on him.

9 days off and getting 1 IP in between is a perfect recipe for a SP to get all out of whack.

Another Gausman Trainwreck. And just when it was time to get excited about him. O's can easily send him right back around to AAA, wonder if they do...

In his defense, the 2 out RBI was a bloop single from Molina. That was molina's 3rd RBI this year

bloop singles happen. there would have been no run had he not walked joyce in the first place.

But to get to that point he hit a batter, walked a batter, and had a great play by Davis at 1st. That inning really could have exploded on him. In his defense it didn't and he is battling both his mechanics and the umpire.

i wouldn't call this a Trainwreck. i'll give examples of some real train-wrecks if you disagree.

and this is 1 bad outing. if they're going to yank the kid from the rotation after every bad outing and yoyo him all year, then i'd rather them send him down and keep him down. last time i checked all pitchers have rough outings. this is his 1st in a while.

If anything, lucky to only have 3 runs scored. He's already had 2 baserunners gunned down by the catcher. Don't know why the Rays even attempt to run on him at this point when there's a very high likelihood that he's just going to walk the batter at the plate.

Learning time. WHIP is walks and hits per nine innings. Does a hit by pitch count then? Desperately trying to find ways of getting his WHIP under at least 2 today

I'd be shocked if he makes it through another inning. Ah well, hopefully he get's to stay in the rotation with Norris going down.

Which is why I don't understand the demotion since he had been looking good and it was their intention to recall him for today's game. The O's took him out his rhythm.

Freddie Freeman looking locked in today and is filling up a box score, oh yea - it's only the bottom of the 2nd.

2/2, HR, 2B, 1 R, 4 RBIs - Stuuuuuuuuuuuud
