David Holmberg 2014 Outlook

3 posts in this topic

Reds manager Bryan Price announced Sunday that David Holmberg will be recalled to start one of the games in Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cubs.

The 22-year-old southpaw has pitched better of late, but owns a 5.28 ERA and 1.85 WHIP over 44 1/3 innings at Triple-A Louisville.

Thoughts on Holmberg? He's thrown 3 shutouts in the last 4 appearances. Granted, he was yanked at 3.2 innings last start because I call up was pending. I think his ERA & WHIP are misleading especially when you look at the gamelogs - tends to be a slow starter. He's not a big strikeout guy though.
