Yes. Check out the closer thread on this.

If Casilla continues to be effective, there's zero reason to remove him. He's been a highly effective reliever for them going on five seasons. It's not as if Casilla is some middling reliever they are turning to because their closer is struggling.

That is how he got the job in the first place. Romo is/was struggling. Bochy will go back to him. No matter who the closer is though the phrase "IF he continues to effective" applies to all closers that takeover during the season.

That's precisely my point. IF he continues to be effective, he's not going back to Romo.

I guess you can describe him as being wildly effective. He seems to miss the catcher's mitt by a lot, yet he hasn't been hurt so far. He's got the movement on his pitches, enough to offset the lack of consistent location.

Very important decision that I have to make before the early morning on this guy...

Do people see him getting the bulk of the saves moving forward, a 50/50 split with Romo, or just about lose his job all together as a closer?

till he blows a save, he's the closer.

Santiago Casilla converted his 14th save of the season Monday as the Giants downed the Rockies 4-2 in the completion of the suspended game from May 22.

Manager Bruce Bochy has said that Casilla and Sergio Romo will split the closing duties going forward, but it was again Casilla getting the ball in the ninth Monday after Romo handled the eighth. He pitched around a pair of singles by getting a double play and a groundout. It's not an ideal situation for fantasy owners, as both Casilla and Romo need to be owned. Sep 1 - 5:58 PM

Romo has warned up or been used in the 8th or before Casilla in extras on the road in every game since those comments
