My wife said she'd double the amount of sex we have if I gave up fantasy football this year. DECLINE!

LOL

How’s she handling the rejection of the trade?

Need more information. If you have sex like once a month, no thanks. But if you have sex a couple times a week, i might consider. Would also need to see pics of your wife.

it's not horrible though, hill is a nice dynasty rb and austin could be good too. it's not like maclin is some coveted asset or something. neither is reed.

Hill is an untalented plodder.

Reed is pretty highly coveted

Maclin has opportunity of a lifetime

Green and Hill are wastes of rosters spaces. Now mind you it's not like Stevie Johnson isn't bench fodder at this point and who knows if Reed will amount to anything, but Maclin on the other hand would appear to have a great shot this year at a very nice year.

These threads are always great to visit after the year because half the time, these trades end up being fairly decent offers, but everyone thinks their players are gold and their ish don't stink....

Totally agree.

This is like my league every year. I'll offer a trade, usually a player who has some upside but is probably on my bench and I'm trying to up grade another position and guys will be like "ah, that sucks, I don't know who that guy is, you're trying to screw me over!" Fast forward a few weeks and I'm glad they didn't accept that trade because it would have not gone too well for me.

Trades are all about negotiation. When you buy something from someone, do you start at your max offer? No, you start low, they go higher, then perhaps you meet in the middle, or you don't make the deal. Same thing applies with trades. A vast majority of offers maybe aren't ideal, but it's possible to work with the other person to get to where you'd be comfortable in making a trade. That's not to say there aren't bad trade offers, however most offers should probably be open to negotiation.

This is what many don't get in almost any league I've ever played in IMO. You've gotta be willing to negotiate and listen to counter offers and be open to make them yourself.

This is a hypothetical example...

I have 4 good RBs and only 2 good WRs. I have Matt Forte and Calvin Johnson roughly evaluated at equal. I own Matt Forte and someone else owns Calvin Johnson.

I would offer Forte for Calvin Johnson, the megatron owner will always say no and try to get more, like try to get Forte and one of my startable WRs, of course I'm not gonna do that.

Now in another trade offer I know in my head I'm willing to go up to Forte to get Megatron from this guy, but I don't want to have to deal with this guy trying to get my other WRs too. I offer Gio Bernard and a crappy WR. Now the owner comes to this thread and mocks me and trade talks have stalled out.

It's a very difficult proposition making trades...

Reed is one head injury away from being mentally equal to a tomato. Talented until then, good luck figuring out when that is though.

hill we have very little basis to judge either way.... NFL

I agree maclin is worth more then tavon

Green is pretty old for dynasty and in a share at best, but then again Johnson is now not even the go to wr and on a run first team with a QB of ho-hum accuracy.

I think the above is a prime example of why vetoing trades are horrible(except when collusion). Different people have wildly different views on player's value. I also don't think that is a terrible trade at all, ESPECIALLY if it's a dynasty league.

Last year around week 6 in my PPR league, I tried trading Zac Stacy, Jordan Cameron, and Keenan Allen for Calvin Johnson to a guy who had Jacquizz Rodgers as his RB1. He said no because he didn't trust Cameron (no counter offer), then I upped it to Zac Stacy, Andre Ellington, and Keenan Allen OR Alshon Jeffery. Dude replied back:

"I don't do 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 trades." I was like...da fuq? He didn't make the playoffs, if anyone was wondering.

As he absolutely should not have, what an idiot. I love when they miss the playoffs and you can tell them how stupid they are.

Yeah, some people. We are all friends in that league and I was talking to him about it later in the season. He said if it was a 3 for 3 trade, he would have done it; he just didn't want to drop any of his players. I pictured him saying it like this:

I hardly ever counter a trade...if someone offers me a dumb offer I don't even bother declining I just leave him wondering till the trade expires...if I offer a trade I'll offer the same player to 4-5 teams first person to accept gets the trade.

I offered a guy a 4th round pick in this year's draft for Justin Hunter (salary cap dynasty league), knowing that the guy was going to cut Hunter based on the rest of his team. He countered and asked for my first round pick. While even a 4th round pick might have been too high for a guy I ended up getting for free in free agency...I don't understand why he didn't want something for nothing.
