Quick Impressions of the first half:

Colts:

Andrew Luck: looked good.

Matt Hasselbeck: Is still in the NFL...wow. He's 38, but it feels like he should be 42 by now. He's playing well.

T-Rich: Had some nice runs, against a good Jets front...looked more decisive.

TY Hilton: Looked really good, had a few catches.

Da'Rick Rodgers - Had a nice catch against Jets CB Dimitri Patterson.

Jets:

Geno Smith: Looked ok, made a nice run on a read option play.

Mike Vick: On his first series, he played with the starters and appeared to move the Jets better than Geno Smith did. Couldn't do anything with the Jets second string offensive line.

Eric Decker: Had a nice catch or two. Had a good one called back on a penalty away from the play.

David Nelson: Started on the other side of Decker.

Jeff Cumberland: Had a nice catch. Likely starting TE.

Chris Ivory: Ran well, appeared to fill the 1st and 2nd down back role. Had a horrible drop. Suffered a rib injury.

Chris Johnson: Looked ok. Haven't seen anything special yet, but he's clearly the best receiving option out of the backfield.

Jace Amero: Actually made a catch.

Steven Hill: Didn't play much with the first team offense. Was brought in on the Geno Smith read option play, and did a nice job blocking. Hill is a great blocker as a WR.

Jets Defense:

Jets front 7 looks ok.

CB Dee Millner almost had an int and looks better in general.

Their other corner dimitri patterson got beat a few times. If he starts on the outside, you'll want the WRs that play the Jets that week. He's wearing #24 too, what a kick in the nuts.

Rotoworld disagrees with you about T-Rich. I'm hoping you're right.

Trent Richardson managed 13 yards on five carries in the Colts' preseason opener Thursday night against the Jets.

With Ahmad Bradshaw resting, T-Rich worked as the Colts' every-down back with the first-team offense. Richardson looked about the same as he did last season, stutter stepping in the hole and waiting for lanes to open. The Colts' O-Line did get movement on his initial eight-yard gain, but Richardson was stuffed for a combined five yards on his other four carries. We didn't notice any increase in explosion or burst from the third-year back. Richardson remains a dicey pick at his early-fifth-round Average Draft Position.

I went and rewatched most of the Colts drive with the starters...Here is how it went:

Dee Millner has a nice pass defense

Nicks gets a 16 yard catch on a comeback route where Dimitri Patterson slips.

TY Hilton kills a LB (david harris) on a crossing route and gets about 20 yards.

Richardson gets his 8 yard run. He’s going off tackle, and makes a nice cutback when the hole closes up and breaks an arm tackle by sheldon richardson and turns a 4 yard run into an 8 yard one.

Luck completes a quick out to TY hilton..who was covered by Dimitri Patterson. It’s nullfied by a penalty on the Jets (holding) which gives the colts a first down.

The Jets are in an 8 man front. Richardson runs behind his tackle again and gains 4. It was nice, because like the 8 yard run, he was very decisive.

This is the play where the Colts center Holmes gets injured. He left the game and didn't come back This disrupts the Colts starting offense.

Richardson runs up the middle behind the back up center. The Jets were in 46, and there was no hope for Richardson to do anything. No gain.

Third and six….The Jets put 8 in the box and line up 7 on the line of scrimmage. The outside corners come up to press. Luck has an easy read to throw to the slot WR and the Jets blitz is picked up. (TY Hilton) who beats Kyle Wilson easily.

The Jets play 7 in the Box, T Rich runs up the middle for 3 yards. Nothing special, but again decisive.

Jets Penalty again (whee)

Colts have second and goal from the 5. They come out with 3 wide in a tight set, richardson in the backfield. Calvin Pace takes out two blockers, and the play is blown up behind the line of scrimmage. Richardson loses 2 yards.

Backup center screws up the snap, kills the Colts chances at a TD.

I didn't see anything bad from Trent Richardson..when he got stuffed it looked like it was more of an o-line issue.

Iron, Calvin Pryor is sitting out for concussion right? I know he was cleared for contact but was wondering if he was gonna play at all.

BJGE 4 carries 19 yards.

#straightballin

Notable that Hill is still getting carries after BJGE. Especially for Gio owners.

You know what is worse than the Jets offense? The Jets third team offense. They turned 1st and 10 at the 19 Into 4th and 41.

We need the The Redzone Channel for the preseason.
