I think he means move Gill into your RB spot so you have more flex options on Sunday if your current RB slips on a banana peel.

Yeah and im saying I don't have many alternatives FLEX wise. I got DJAX and Quizz on BYE, Hunt and Gilly (as well as Dola who I'm not using) playing tonight. I just don't see myself rolling out T.West or Paul Richardson.

I'm all in.

If you start your Thursday in the flex and your two clocked in RB's get hurt, you can only replace them with RB's.  If you start your Thursday in the RB, you can replace that possible injured RB with more options.

Yeah, basic rule of fantasy football.  Even if you don't think you have any options, if you're going to play either an RB or WR on a Thursday game, play him at his true position and not in the flex position.  Lots can happen between now and Sunday.   This way you still have more options.

Too often I see this logic.  "Oh, he's my third rated running back, so I must play him in the flex position.  I don't want to play a weak guy in my RB1 or RB2 slot."  Which makes no sense.  How you slot people into your lineup should be based on time of game, not how you personally value them or their projected points.  Points are points whether they come from your RB2 or from your flex.

I'm superstitious, so I find it hard to put my rb1 and rb2 anywhere but in those slots. lol.

I'm starting him tonight. Lombardi, Silva, whoever. They're guessing like the rest of us. I would love to go back and see how often these guys made predictions and how accurate they've been. All we know is BB is going to look at the opposing defense, identify weaknesses he can exploit and hammer that weakness. None of the other backs have Gillisee's combination of power and explosiveness as a runner. If he's healthy it's a no-brainer he's active in my mind. It's just another tool in BB's toolbox he can use.

17 car.- 85 yds-2 TDs

3 rec.-15 yds

So my RB1/2 are locked no question - Gill would be my FLEX.  It's between him and Abdullah.  I also have Gronk for tonights game.  Sane analytics all take Abdullah over Gill - safer floor for sure.  Anyone care to convince me to dress Gill over Abdullah?  I also did end up dropping my kicker for Rex just incase he blows up tonight.

I keep coming back to the fact that Gillislee led the league in yards per carry last year.  And would have the year before if he had enough runs.  He has the highest career YPC of all active RBs with 100+ carries.  He's no short yardage specialist.

My eyes be playing tricks. Last year he caught my eye more than any other non-starting running back. Him and Derrick Henry were the two I'd watch and think "man... he could be a top 5 overall RB as a starter".   But this preseason, he hasn't passed the eye test-- though part of it is from the 0-line basically collapsing on him. He has looked strong around the goal line though, and I think that makes his floor a lick higher than most people think.

I'm holding onto that "woah!" take from last year, applying it to the Patriots situation where they managed to make LaGarette Blount perform like a 1st round pick, and figuring that, no earlier than the late 5th round, Gillislee is a potentially-league-winning flier... who doesn't need as much to break right, in the mold of a Derrick Henry or D'Onte Foreman. And honestly, if the fantasy industry collectively viewed him as a late 3rd rounder, I wouldn't think it's absurd.

I've been clamoring for Gil from the rooftops all season... but man, I'm feeling some serious trepidation right now. I still think Gil will be valuable over the course of the season, but I'm not feeling confident about week 1.

I'm with you. I think he'll be a great investment over the season, but I'm trepidatious about tonight. I have to choose two between Gillislee, Hunt, or MartavisBryant@Cleveland. Gut says start Gilly, but my other gut says "don't overthink it. roll with Hunt. He is all but guaranteed 10+ touches."

If it's Hunt vs Gil -- I'm going Hunt. It's a clear-cut situation where he'll see catches and carries. 12 touches minimum...i just can't fathom any lower than that.

If you have the luxury of sitting it out and seeing how it plays, do it, imo. And that's coming from a Gil/Burkhead owner. Gilislee may have the higher ceiling and has proven to be a TD Hog...coupled with this offenses predisposition to running in the RZ....yikes-- let me shut up...i'm slowly changing my mind.

Like Lavar Ball I am going to speak it into existence......crap, what do I know. Hoodie could give him 3 carries and have him return kicks. I could start Mixon or TWest instead, but what fun would that be?

According to Mike Reiss:

Patriots inactives: WR Matthew Slater, S Nate Ebner, TE Jacob Hollister, LB Harvey Langi, OT Cam Fleming, OL Cole Croston, DT V. Valentine.

Looks like he will be Active. I know it was speculated he could be IA.

WTF guys. This is a happy time. Think positive. If things go right, the Gilla monster is going to finally be unleashed tonight. No more taking a backseat to McCoy. 12-15 carries a game. Big back role plus goal line hog! Ready for this? He's going to kick a** tonight.

Due to the TB@MIA game being postponed, I'm forced to start either Gillislee or White in my most important league. White likely has the better floor but if they use Gillislee in the Blount-esque role, like I suspect they will, then he has the better ceiling. Starting Gillislee at RB2 with confidence. ?

BB doesn't give up picks unless it's a person he feels can contribute.  Bills fan checking in and I loved what I saw from Gilly in the last few seasons.  Incredibly efficient in the redzone.  That is what BB wanted to replace in Blount.  That aspect of Blount is what he looked to find, not a Blount clone.  He'll take that aspect of Gilly and use the other guys available to him to fill in the rest.

He has more overall talent than Blount.  BB traded a 5th rounder for him.  It may take a few weeks to settle in but I think he has a strong last 3/4 of the season.  From the early chaos, Gilly will emerge.
