2017 Bold Predictions Thread

So who in here had hunt and/or gilly as the second comings of bell and Blount?

<-- This guy, especially with Ware going down.

I had him pegged like I did David Johnson, who I had on my bench until he made is true debut in 2015. Now, if you were to ask me in 2015 vs 2017 who the better player is, prior to the season, I would've said David Johnson hands down. But it's not all about who is the better player. It's about opportunity. And while David Johnson won me the playoffs in 2015, I almost missed the playoffs entirely because DJ wasn't revealed as the true lotto ticket he was until halfway through the season and 2 injuries later.

I missed Kareem by 1 pick in my snake (I hate snake drafts, dude who took him had no idea who he got) and I saved up money in auction to get him late (and paid $10 when other players were going for $2-$5).

Because, while Kareem is no David Johnson based on pure skill, he was going to be the #1 on a team that has produced for RBs in the past.

2016 KC RBs = 302 Carries, 1281 yards, 61 Rec, 635 Yards, 11 TDs (Ware and West)

2015 KC RBs = 260 Carries, 1109 yards, 28 Rec, 243 Yards, 12 TDs (Ware, West, and Davis)

2014 KC RBs = 339 Carries, 1502 yards, 56 Rec, 438 Yards, 21 TDs (Charles and Davis)

2013 KC RBs = 259 Carries, 1288 yards, 70 Rec, 693 Yards, 19 TDs (Charles)

2012 KC RBs = 284 Carries, 1513 yards, 36 Rec, 236 Yards, 6 TDs (Charles) (4 TDs and more catches/yards to other RBs)

2011 KC RBs = 431 Carries, 1642 yards, 74 Rec, 521 Yards, 6 TDs (4-headed RBBC)

With the exception of 2011 and 2015 where KC had some nasty RBBCs, KC has produced an RB1 every season.

Charles is gone. Davis is gone. Ware is done for the season. West is a change of pace. That leaves the last man standing on a great running team that throws to RBs.

It was dumb to have doubts about hunt.

Chiefs torched 'em a few seasons ago in the opener and they only went on to win it all. Can't count the Pats out yet but you have to wonder how close the cliff is.

For 3 quarters they were ok. Just fell apart in the 4th.

My prediction is looking pretty good already right now.  Glad I drafted him in two leagues.

Peterson gets sat the entire first half before shoving Kamara to the side and inserting himself onto the field for a play.  Payton calls timeout and rushes out to give AP a earful, AP punches him in the face and chaos ensues.

QB:

Mariotta is the QB1 this year

Eli gets benched before the year ends

Trubisky has a worse career than Gabbert

RB:

Fournette wins rushing title

Gio is the top fantasy RB in cincy

Gurley is a top 2 back

Ajayi is this year's gurley

WR:

Moncrief leads all WRS in TDS

Cooks is a top 5 WR

Parker is the highest scoring fantasy player in Miami  (excluding QB/DST)

Crowder leads the NFL in catches

Last but not least Gordon gets reinstated ends up in Atlanta plays a few games gets everyone excited and then gets suspended again

TE:

Gronk plays 16 and balls out

OJ Howard isn't a top 36 TE

Austin Hooper becomes a top 6 TE

Again I have no real reason to believe any of these will happen their just things I think could happen.

My RB predictions look good so far

I think Gordon is trending more towards Gurley last year then Ajayi. The Gio prediction is holding true so far, props to that!

Andrew Luck gets traded to the cardinals in the offseason for Nkemdiche(spelling?), Mathieu and the cardinals top 10 pick. Luck has proven he can take average teams far into the postseason in Indy so imagine what will happen if he gets put on a team with a good/great supporting cast. Arizona gets their franchise QB to replace palmer and last season drafted a mathieu clone in Budda Baker. Ballard gets to start rebuiling Indianapolis his way because they need A LOT of help and if Brisset plays all year the colts will have a top 5 pick which will allow them to get another QB.

It would be cool if this happens huge trades like this rarely happen in the NFL.

I feel as if this is very unnecessary because 90% of the bold predictions will be laughably wrong by the time the season ends but who really cares. For example going into 2013 one of my predictions was Josh Gordon would outscore Trent Richardson, now did I really expect this to happen no, I thought it had a very slim chance of happening but I thought it was something that could happen. Just because I said that it didn't stop me from drafting Richardson in some leagues  (unfortunately) and I definately didn't take gordon in the first round but it did mean that I drafted gordon in every league I played in. There isn't that much logic associated with bold predictions because if they were logical and smart they wouldn't be bold, with that said:

QB:

Mariotta is the QB1 this year

Eli gets benched before the year ends

Trubisky has a worse career than Gabbert

RB:

Fournette wins rushing title

Had some decent ones on Eli, Gurley, Ajayi, Cooks and Gordon.
