Believe me, there's nothing to smile about Kawhi's season.

Wait until he  plays a game.  Working out does not help any fantasy team

if reports were true last week that he was healthy and just didn't want to return, then I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing next week!

I see there are still haters on this thread, must have dropped him and are feeling sour af. Not sure whether you'd take a lost season vs him at least coming back to help with the playoff stretch. #thxjeff

I agree. If he's healthy, he's healthy. If not, I don't think he'll get better in the next few weeks. Plus I'm sure they'll want to play him as many games as possible to mesh with the team. He may be back next week.

Don't worry dude, still have him. Just the frustration regarding the lack of transparency by Spurs regarding his injury. Definitely if he's of any help from now, I'll take it.

i wish someone dropped him in my league, would've been the first to pick him up. any who this is big for the spurs. it's so crazy that their system allows them to be successful. now they can challenge warriors and rockets for top 3.

I was so confident he'd be back, i picked him up in a 14 teamer with only two pickups per week and no IR - had no pickups last week left put a waiver claim as soon as 3am hit and had him on my team with the 14th waiver claim - #determinedSpursFan

Just dropped Jabari for him.

I hate to drop Jabari but I had to make this move...

If Kawhi doesn't come back, I will just use the spot as a streamer during the playoffs.

Did people in this thread...Specifically Tamz07 even read the report? You guys are acting like he's coming back tomorrow...

I currently sitting in 2nd overall and have Kawhi stashed on my IR (will become my playoff streaming spot)...but this report is not comforting at all.

Where did you read he's coming back soon? Please point it out in the Woj report?

The report clearly says he's not even expected to practice 5 vs 5 anytime soon...and the goal, "in the near future"....is to have him simply practice 5 v 5....Sounds like hes about 4-5 weeks away from touching the court...which wil obviously be on a heavy minutes restriction, b2b etc...

People..THINK logically before you drop valuable players for this most likely season bust.

Have fun trying to figure out exactly what games he’ll be sitting out during your playoffs as well as what minutes restrictions he’ll be under even if he does play.

Man... dropped him literally an hour before the new news broke. I guess I can kiss him goodbye.

I did read it. The report is infinitely more comforting than Pop's last words about him, that he did not expect Kawhi to be back this year.

Now, if you think about it, it doesn't make sense for them to bring Kawhi at the end of March. He needs time to shake off the rust and mesh with the team, and if months of rehabbing did not heal him, a couple weeks more or less won't matter. His health will probably be the same as it is now. I'd say he either comes back in 7-10 days, or he doesn't come back at all. So some clarity is waiting for us in the near future lol

Not to mention, a 5v5 practice is usually the last step before getting on the court. So he's not 4-5 weeks away from getting on the court.

unless you're in a deep league, Kawhi won't be a difference maker given his minute restrictions and back to back DNPs. The Spurs don't care about regular season and don't need Kawhi to play a ton to build chemistry because the team has been together for the past 100 years. He'll play around 25 mins every 2 out of 3 games for the rest of the season.  If this works for you, pick him up. Temper expectations and you won't be disappointed.

Scooped him up in my 20 team league with no IR spot. Currently sitting in 6th with a relatively easy match up this week - so worth the gamble to try and get things going for the playoffs.

Oh this definitely works. If he plays 25 mins every 2 out of 3 games, that's 3rd round value right there.

I think it is useful too. I think he can average 3rd round value on 25 mins a game but his DNPs will take his total value closer to 6th-7th round which is also acceptable.

Lol some people on this thread my goodness... salty much? This is the best news considering all circumstances - he will be playing within two weeks as Pop has made it clear he wants to get him "enough" games in time for playoffs so that the chemistry is built. He put pressure on Kawhi, and Kawhi responded. Spurs only play twice this week, perfect time for him to get in practice and hit the court. I highly doubt he will have many restrictions since he was already medically cleared. Again, all you who bought into this entire thing and followed the media hype surrounding the issue since its the Spurs and Kawhi of all things, you guys clearly had a reality check. Pop is a smart coach who for once used media as a way to get to Kawhi. Message delivered and so will Kawhi soon
