Willie Cauley-Stein 2017-2018 Season Outlook

Recommended Posts

I have avoided all Kings like the plague this year. But I think now is the time with veterans being rested and so I just scooped up WCS (needed a big while I wait in John Collins to be unleashed).

The minutes for him should be consistent from now on and I think this is the time for him to show and prove something.

Now if only he can improve the FT% and block more shots. Really what is up with that though? He averaged 2.1, 2.9, and 1.7 blocks a game in his three years in college. His block numbers in the pros should be better than what they have been....

This. this dude was a block specialist in college- which typically translates well to the pros. not sure why he hasn't been getting blocks at anywhere near the same rate.

I agree, but by 24, you typically are what you are.  Most players (not all, but most) will have their biggest block seasons early in their careers, both because of their young legs and because they usually lack the discipline to not gamble.  The best shotblocks, of course, will increase a bit (see Mutombo or Olajuwon) but your average ones?  Look at Shaq, his best season was his rookie year.

I think this is just WCS now.

He's been averaging 16 & 8 with 2 assists and 1.5 steals and half a block on over 50%fg, fits a Giannis build nicely. WIll he keep this up?

definitely, the breakout is all but guaranteed with the old vets resting almost every game now.

14 days..121

7 days...74

It s because his free throws are the worst in the league.

He has the second worse impact in the league after Howard for the last 30 days.

didn't watch the game, but how does a C who just primarily stays and shoots in the paint shoot 5/20 from the field??

WSC is probably my favorite draft pick besides AD and Boogie, for some reason i've always liked him..

He is wildly inconsistent, but it's also the first time he is getting consistent PT. I remember in the beginning of the season some people saying he is not good at basketball but he has moves many starting Cs cannot even imagine doing. When he finds consistency he will be a gem.
