Myles Turner 2017-2018 Season Outlook

Can't imagine how Dipo is hurting him. Turner isn't a number one option and he made that clear this season. You can't even count on him to get through most games without picking up 2 fouls in the 1st.

Been flat out disappointing this season... There are too many games the coaching staff goes away from him, for good reason. Also, there are too many games he plays 30+ minutes and comes away with 2 boards.

Just watching some of the Pacers games this year, I think Myles is going to be the next version of BroLo...and that isn't a bad thing. Brook was awesome when he had healthy stretches, but he never rebounded. Just watching Myles play he spends an incredible amount of time outside of the paint. He is always stretching the floor, so the offensive glass isn't a huge opportunity for him. The more the NBA spaces with 5s the more it will draw Turner out of the paint on the defensive end, making the rebounds compromised. I would put him in that prime BroLo tier for a way to early ranking for next year.

I won't make excuses for Turner, he has been wildly inconsistent.  The random injuries didn't help him much.

His reduced price tag after this season has me targeting him next season.

I would gladly take a prime BroLo if that is what he turns out to be.

Was just thinking of this comparison myself a couple days ago. There are obviously differences: Turner is a better shooter, with far less skill in the post, and a better defender (though Brook has been a decent one for his entire career contrary to popular opinion, especially in the paint) but their overall profiles are about as similar as you can get. Brook looks a lot more assertive offensively though, too. If Turner is ever going to get back on track with his potential, he's going to need to get more shots up.

This guy gets out rebounded by guards and wing players who spend all their time guarding perimeter players. That pacers starting lineup doesn't have any other real rebounder to take opportunities from him. He has the size, length, and ability to grab boards he just doesn't want it enough. You're right about stretch 5s pulling bigs out but guys like towns, love, jokic guard the same players and spend a lot of time on the perimeter. Difference between them and Myles is they crash on every single shot hunting boards.

As an offensive player, turning into BroLo seems unlikely. Lopez was extremely efficient on the block before he moved out to the 3pt line and showed how assertive he was on that end. Myles seems like he's cool just floating around out there.

Nah, he's been consistently bad this season with some good games down the road and INJ right after. I wasted a 2nd round pick on him this year and he will be forever on my DND list.

I was burned by him in many leagues.

The only thing I take away is... I hope he shows growth in the offseason.  The skill set is there, he just has to be more consistent.

The only people I put on my DND list are people coming off major injuries.  If the price is right, I will gladly draft Turner in the auctions I will do.  I'll probably also target Chriss.  I'm psychotic like that.

I expect Turner to come for pennies on the dollar. A bunch of people that fancied themselves fantasy experts (myself included) got their egos burned by him and complained loudly and constantly the entire season about it. There's a reason this is the most discussed player on this board for the season. BM has him at 55th in per game value on the year at the moment. Bet I can get the 22-year-old block specialist in the 5th or 6th round next year with how people will be avoiding him. If that's the case I'll probably have him in every league I'm in.

I agree.  The price is right with Turner next year.  Hopefully they will find a way to play him and Sabonis together.  Thad Young is still productive though, so I don't know what will happen.

I'm hoping for prime Ibaka next year.  LOL

Just lost me the season. Thanks Myles.

One player, especially one that was healthy enough to play, does not lose anyone a season.

True... but he really laid an egg.  It is really depressing see him play so bad.  I hope he does better in the playoffs.  Or maybe I don't so I can get him for cheap next year.  Such a confusing year for Turner.
