Need thoughts on my Last Keeper? (can keep 8)

Recommended Posts

Im planning to keep the following players..   included what round they will cost me in my upcoming draft:

Brantley (7th round)

Kyle Hendricks (10th round)

Pomeranz (16th round)

Dylan Bundy (17th round)

Odubel Herrera (18th round)

Aaron Nola (19th round)

Jake Lamb (22nd round)

^ Last 3 or so keepers were drafted by me about 3 seasons ago so thats why they are so cheap (knew someone would ask how lol)

anyways i wanted to keep CJ Cron (big angel fan, as well) @ 14th round because i like his production when given time. figure he'd have ample RBI opps but now, i see his playing time getting worse (if not traded)...

Please help me pick my eighth and final keeper. This is for a 16 team OPS league:

Lance Lynn (15th rd)

JA Happ (12th rd)

Wacha (15th rd)

Logan Morrison (12th rd)

Gyorko (15th rd)

Orlando Arcia (21st rd)

CJ Cron (14th rd)

Jimmy Nelson (12th rd)

Nola should be your last keeper. He will be a top 15 SP in 2018.

Dude, hes already on the 7 i picked as "for sure keepers". ^_^

you will notice that if you read the original post again.

How long can a guy be kept?

great question...

each year a player goes up one round in draft cost....   a player can be kept 3 additional years after their original draft.  in this case:

Brantley has 3 more years  (so this year he'd cost 7th...  then 6th in '19, and 5th in '20)

Hendricks has 2 more years (so this year and next, for example)

Pomeranz has 3 more years

Bundy has 3 more years

Odubel has 2 more years

Nola has 2 more years

Jake Lamb has 2 more years

^ those are the seven i am FOR SURE keeping, without a doubt

the ones i have to choose from for the eighth (final) spot are:

I would go with Nelson then.

He will miss some time to start the year but he pitched like an ace (or at high 2) last year, and should be able to maintain that.

Nelson seems like the obvious choice.

I would go Nelson, but I would keep an eye on his recovery timetable as the season nears. If it looks like he will miss most to all of the season I would go Lynn depending on were he lands in FA.

I would go Lynn depending on where he lands.  He will actually contribute this season and he's cheaper than Nelson.

Help?
