You guys taking the over or under that he'll pitch all or most of the season this year ?

What kind of question is this? No one knows. You just want complete guesses? 184.3 IP.

It's pretty self explanatory, either you think he'll pitch past his tops of 136 innings last year barring another injury, or you don't.  There are some players who just don't remain healthy for a full season, doesn't mean they won't put up decent numbers however. Just a pulse check on what others think, a lot of people we're talking his past injury history and value because of it. He's not far off last years IP so far which is nice of course.

I would be perfectly content with 180+ innings. He's currently projected for ~200 innings.

There were some concerns earlier this season about his GB% and BB% but both have improved.

Mar/Apr: 31,6 GB%

May: 36,5 GB%

June: 45,5 GB%

Mar/Apr: 10,6 BB%

May: 5,8 BB%

June: 4,9 BB%

With Felix going on the DL Seattle is considering moving Paxton up a day to pitch Thursday, which would mean avoiding Coors.

I’d prefer he pitch at Coors and stay on schedule.

His body doesn’t need an excuse to hurt itself.

If he pitches against the Angels he will be on normal rest

Paxton last pitched on Saturday 7/7, if he pitches on Thursday, that’s still on normal rest. I would prefer he pitches on normal rest and avoided Coors, rather than getting that extra day and having to play in that launching pad.

Mother of god.  Leake and Leblanc in Coors?  First to 17 wins.

Velo was down.  Looked lost when Pujols homered.  Guy heals like a 97 year old so hopefully it was just a mechanical funk, dead arm or something.

Low back stiffness, per beat writer Ryan Divish on Twitter.

We have come to that moment we have all been waiting for. . . the annual Paxton DL trip. At least we have the ASB to eat a week of what will probably be a month long absence.

Back stiffness, aka, don’t have it tonight and not up to pitching.

Hopefully it's what sonny_d is alluding to:

more just mental breakdown after tough start so they took him out and cited some random excuse to save a little face

"back stiffness" is way more PR friendly than "sucked and mentally checked out"

Did you see his face on mound?  Legit looked like he was about to cry.  I’ve said it at times in this thread.  This guy has unreal arm talent but I seriously question his fortitude at times.

Nahhh. But don't need one. Weepy face James is burned in my brain from the many times he's looked that way on the mound. You ever seen those SPCA commercials? Cause that's the face.
