Were these pitches still in the strike zone or were they up out of the zone? If they were strikes, then perhaps. If some or most were balls, then it won't really be a watershed moment. Because when he does it enough and there's enough film on it, hitters will start to lay off of them.

I am curious where this leads, though.

From Sullivan's piece swinging strikes by pitch type and location:

Oh nice! Thank you for providing that. Makes me really hopeful that he can continue this in future starts B)

no-no complete.  Dudes a beast.  If he stays healthy Mariners may actually make the playoffs.

Quite the follow-up to a game he was looking to make a run at 20 Ks.

Last two games-

16 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, 23 Ks

It's fun to watch a pitcher at the top of his game and reaching back for a 100mph fb when it matters the most late in the game especially when everyone is worried about his durability. What a defense behind him too.  First CG is a no no.

Big ups to Kyle Seager for saving it for him.

Stay healthy, James!

Defense was superb all night, helluva game James!

Seager made play of game!  That diving stop in 7th I believe was sick.  Healy’s emotion after was cool too.  Those guys were busting a** to get that no no for James.

Way to go Big Maple. He was hitting 100 in the 9th. Prime ace when the mechanics are on point.

Very happy for Pax. He always has had this in him and with luck (particularly injury luck) we'll see a few more.

Healy saved Seager earlier, was good to see the comradery. I know Ryon's defense was pretty bad last year with Oakland but he has done well so far this year and the bat is obviously there. Maybe, just maybe, we might have us a solid 1B.

In Seattle the king is dead.  (But a good long run for Felix).  Long live the king.  Congrats to King James.

EH! EH! EH! EH! EH! EH! EH!

Congrats James, and thank you for your contribution to your fantasy owners.

That fact that he did it in his homeland makes it all the more awesome.

Interesting matchup for The Big Maple today. The Tigers currently sport a 108 wRC+ and are 29th in K% against LHP, so it won't be easy to reach double-digits in strikeouts. He also gets the Tigers again on the 18th.
