Pitchers

Canning

Thaiss is crushing AAA. Potential .300 25HR hitter.  Ward hitting too. Maitan and Soto in rookie ball.

You couldn't be more wrong.  It's top 5.  And Adell will be top 5 in the midseason rankings.  Canning coming soon too.

I’m wondering where you’re coming up with this ranking, Magoo.  Sickels had them at #20 a couple of months ago.

Partly guessing, partly reading tea leaves

Don’t want to get too far afield, but if the Halos part with Adell for a rental, I will be hugely disappointed.  They do have some interesting arms in Canning and Suarez.  Wouldn’t be surprised if Suarez logged some time this season in the bigs.

Ultimately, this would only make sense if Cozart is seriously injured.

Oh you meant the system as a whole?  That's a guess too.

Yea I don't think they would given the JD Martinez price last year (or lack thereof).  Odds are it would be a Jahmai Jones type prospect.

Don’t look now but the Padres, of all teams, are showing trade interest in Orioles SS Manny Machado.

This from the Dose: The Unwritten Rules article here on Rotoworld today (June 22).

Why SD would want to trade for a rental makes no sense but hey the Padres do extremely weird things regards their trades and signings at times.  Even extreme whacko things.

And, unlike the Angels lackluster farm system, SD has some legit top prospects.  O's want pitching prospects?  SD is right up there close to Atlanta in that department.  And the Padres' pitching prospects are top of the line unlike the Angles' ones.

1 run since 6/5, 3 the whole month of June.  This is the death of being in a league worst lineup, when you aren’t sweltering hot you have no ability to run into stats.  Unless he drives himself in, or goes an XBH tear again he’ll continue to waffle away down the rankings.  He can’t live this atrocious team soon enough.

I knew it was bad but didn't realize it was that bad.  Yikes.  The Orioles now have no hitting to compliment their "pitching."

SD acquiring Manny would make about as much sense as the O's just keeping him.

Well over the last 28 days his OBP is .289 and .279 over the last 14.  So you also need to actually get on base to be driven in.

For the record I fully expect them to go HARD after Machado this off-season.

But I wouldn't give up much at all for him right now.

GAF meter less than zero.  Basically walked to first on a ground ball with bases loaded tonight. If he wasn’t likely to be dealt I’d probably sell for .50 cents on the dollar.  This situation is toxic for fantasy.  This team sucks.

Have to wonder if all this trade talk is affecting his performance. Guessing he wishes he had been traded about a month ago and is frustrated to still be on a team with no interest in contending and  no rush to move him.

He's suffering from a bad case of the Orioles.

Hey why not the Angels?  Cozart's shoulder is probably $^%ed up good since the original forearm strain by the world class Angels training staff has turned into a shoulder subluxation.

Called it.  Angels should go get Machado now.

Angels team sucks.  They are a Mike Trout away from being in exact spot, if not worse than Orioles.  Their roster is littered with losers.  They should hold onto assets and reevaluate after season.  No reason to give up prospects to have an outside shot even with Machado at the second wild card play in game.

Sigh that's fair.  That's kind of the issue for everyone in the AL with Machado no?  Dodgers, Dbacks, and Giants only ones that make sense from the NL.

Still think St. Louis is a potential landing spot as well. They could slot him in at short and have a pretty dynamic infield - have enough minor league talent to get it done as well.

DeJong is suppose to start his minor league re-hab tomorrow and should be back at SS within a week.

It's like a bad case if the Mondays if every day were Monday and the days were 1000 hours long.
