Tyreek Hill 2018 Outlook

He was a top 5 WR last year.  Why is anyone surprised?

That what I was saying when I started preparing for this year, dude has proved he should be a minimum mid 2nd round selection.  I was more than happy to take him in the early 3rd round in 2/3 of my drafts this year, league winner potential.

I get that things changed in KC but IMO they changed in Hills favor.

Rookie QB with good legs and a rocket launcher for an arm + a guy that can outrun every DB in the league....

In the 2017 Tyreek thread, I periodically listed where he ranked by week's end in my main fantasy league, with the following settings.

6 FP's for a TD (rushing, receiving or return game); 1 point every 15 rush yards; 1 point every 15 receiving yards; 3 points for every 100 yard rushing performance or receiving performance; 1 point every 30 kick return yards; 1 point every 30 punt return yards; .25 points per catch

I went back into the 2017 thread to see how he ranked from the occasional checks I did, combined with how he's done so far in 2018.
Spoiler alert: Tyreek is consistently at the top of the WR board.

At the end of Week 3 2017, he was the #3 WR

At the end of Week 7 2017, he was the #2 WR

At the end of Week 8 2017, he was the #3 WR

At the end of Week 9 2017, he was the #3 WR

At the end of Week 10 2017, he was the #3 WR

At the end of Week 13 2017, he was the #3 WR

At the end of Week 14 2017, he was the #4 WR

At the end of Week 16 2017, he was the #3 WR
(Tyreek then sat out Week 17 2017 along with other KC starters)

And by the end of Week 1 2018, he will be the #1 WR.

I’m sorry you passed on him in your draft.

This guy ceiling is crazy high. Like AB mixed with Donte Hall with a little bit of running back in him as well. Don’t think we’ve seen as versatile of a fantasy player, and in real life he is kind of a cheat code on offense.

That wasn't flukey. That statement is either 1 of 2 things:

  • You didn't draft him and you're salty about it
  • You faced him this week and lost because of him, and you're salty about it.

The dude is just talented. Get over it.

I dont think hes a fluke. Hes the real deal. Will finnish top 5 WR if he stays healthy. Too much talent. And incredible situation. Got another question , i asked about trading him for top 5 RBs but how about Aaron Rodgers.  If Rodgers owner offered Aaron who puts up 20+ a week and more every week. What yaall Hill owners say. I got only trade him for DJ, zeek , gurley and maybe Hunt if RB and trade for no WR. Again not saying offer him up, just sayin if an offer was made to you

Going back to 2016, Tyreek has double digit FP's in 18 of his last 32 games. How good is that? Only 5 RB's or WR's in the NFL have done better.

I reference this information I provided back in January within this thread...

------
**I consider a stud game as double-digit FP's in my main league's scoring system (.25 point PPR format for WR's & RB's, .50 point PPR for TE's, 6 points for a TD, 1 point for every 15 receiving or rushing yards, 1 point for every 30 return yards, and 3 point bonus for a 100-yard receiving or rushing game). And a dud is under 5 points in this format**

In 2016 & 2017, there have been just 12 players to get as many as 16 stud games. Why am I looking for 16 such games? Simple...in 2 NFL seasons, each team has 32 total games, so 16 studs means they've given you a big performance at least half the time.

1. Ezekiel Elliott - 21 studs (and 1 dud) out of 25 games played

2. Melvin Gordon - 20 studs (and 4 duds) out of 29 games played

3. LeVeon Bell - 19 studs (and 1 dud) out of 27 games played

4. Antonio Brown - 19 studs (and 6 duds) out of 29 games played

5. Todd Gurley - 18 studs (and 6 duds) out of 31 games played

6. LeSean McCoy - 17 studs (and 6 duds) out of 31 games played

7. Tyreek Hill - 17 studs (and 7 duds) out of 31 games played

8. Travis Kelce - 17 studs (and 8 duds) out of 31 games played

9. DeMarco Murray - 17 studs (and 10 duds) out of 31 games played

10. DeAndre Hopkins - 16 studs (and 7 duds) out of 31 games played

11. Mike Evans - 16 studs (and 7 duds) out of 31 games played

12. Davante Adams - 16 studs (and 9 duds) out of 30 games played

------

So adding Week 1 of 2018 to the tally and the only 5 players who have been better than Tyreek are: 1. Zeke, 2. Gordon, 3. Bell, 4. AB, and 5. Gurley.

I guess Mahomes is an upgrade after all! Dude might legit be the WR1 this year with more games like that. Especially with the D not looking great.

Here's a final stat for today, to exhibit how excellent Tyreek has been since entering the NFL...

Since 2016, there are only 6 WR's to get a "stud" rating in at least 50% of overall games played. The stud rating I'm referencing can be seen in the quoted post. The percentage stat is simple. Stud games divided by overall games played from 2016--2018...
