Check out the new Rotoworld Beta Site!   11/14/2018

Rotoworld has been the industry leader in fantasy news and analysis for years, but it was time for a much-needed facelift!  While our around-the-clock, comprehensive coverage will remain the same, the new Rotoworld design will be sleeker, easier to navigate, more video-friendly and will finally be mobile-optimized.    That’s right, you can finally stop pinching the screens on your phones to read our content!  Right now we’re in the beta phase of our launch, and it’s still a work-in-progress, but we’d love for you to check out our soon-to-be new digs, and let us know what you think: https://beta.rotoworld.com.    And then please use the Contact Us button to give us feedback!

hes 100% gonna be traded, if not thatd be a major surprise, and i think no matter where he goes his value will be improved due to a better lineup

There is a report that the Astros have talked to the Rays about Ramos. Since McCann got hurt the Astros could use some help at catcher.

Would love to see this happen although I’m not sure where he would hit in the Astros lineup.

Maybe 6th?

Probably 6th/7th, particularly when Correa gets back.  Still better than pretty much anywhere in the Rays lineup unfortunately.

For a half season rental they'd be silly to give up either. As much as I like Ramos.

Yeah Ramos is a rental, not a traded under contract player.  So not a big name back but at least something because the Rays won't have him next year anyway.  Not after the year he has had.  Big boys with deep pocket will be after him in free agency this winter.

Croatia goalie tears his hammy and screams out in pain.  Gets up and plays a shootout, then another 2 hour game and will play tommorrow.

Baseball players hit the ball...pull a hammy running ro first and miss 2 months.

Baseball players go from sitting on their butts to full sprint to a stop 90 feet away and have to time their strides to hit the bag.  Then they go sit down again.  It's a recipe for injuries.  Guys should be riding a stationary bike rather than taking warm-up swings in the on-deck circle.  Or double deck on the bike, on-deck taking swings sorta deal.

Ramos was quoted as saying he’ll likely be going on the DL, and is going to sit out the All Star Game but still attend (I’m sure he wants to stick it to the Nats)

Ramos gets hurt at the worst times.

2 years ago he tore his ACL towards the end of the year when he was about to become a FA. Now he gets hurt a few weeks before the non waiver trade deadline.

I hope he isn’t out long

they are going to see how he responds over the break but he will probably end up on the DL. I just read an article saying he could miss weeks or even months.  Months seems a bit exaggerated but I could see him being out a few weeks.

I didn't come across anything recent other than "he'll miss some time," per Cash.  So apparently specialist analysis and second opinions of the MRI results is warranted.  If I understand the new DL procedure the team can wait until Tuesday to DL him with a Saturday start date.

Wasnt expecting him out this long (mid-august?).  This is from CBS.  Assuming this is all speculation...

Ramos was placed on the 10-day DL with a left hamstring strain Wednesday, Marc Topkin of The Tampa Bay Times reports.

As expected, Ramos was put on the shelf after suffering the injury against the Twins on Saturday. There Rays have yet to address a timetable for Ramos, but it's likely that he will be sidelined through the remainder of this month, and could be out until mid-August depending on how quickly the hamstring is able to recover.

They are just making it up. No timetable exists yet

Actually I wasn't expecting him back the rest of the year.  So that's good news to me.

["To punt or not to punt" needs to go in the strategy thread.  Chatter about who you're picking up / who you picked up to replace Ramos is BC / CSB content.]

Phillies are the ones interested and they are close to making a deal right now.

Boston isn't.  Vasquez is under contract long term and Sale, Price and others prefer pitching to Leon.  Swihart is the 3rd catcher and is the hitting catcher / utility guy who is doing quite well with Vasquez out.  So zero interest from Boston.

Wilson/Alfaro platoon is good for Pihlly.  And even as a rental, Ramos should be a good mentor for Alfaro.  Also Ramos is a FA at the end of the season and someone is going to sign him.  Why not Philly.

Probably reading into it to much, but gotta imagine Ramos will be excited to play the Nats 9 more times this year with a shot to secure the NL East. Love it.
