A WR3 really? A dim a dozen.

Could always aim higher. There is definitely still a lot of belief in Gordon for some reason.

Seems like a lot of people in this forum don't know a whole lot about substance abuse.

Pot is a pretty gripping substance. It's not like alcohol where you see people slowly deteriorating with their skin turning red and their cheeks puffing out and their behavior growing slowly more inappropriate. Pot grips you slowly with an innocuous chinese-finger trap style. There are many who say it's harmless and in many ways thats far more true than it is for other substances- you can't overdose on it and apart from being a carcinogen the primary concern from it is driving. But what it does do is present itself as the only relief from the stress and anxiety that can predominate your life without it. If you're a pothead, that's how you feel relief, there's no other way unless you're addicted to something else.

That's not to say that pot is a bad thing, in many ways it is a positive factor in people's lives, that is people who are content with never becoming millionaires or living high pressure existences. Some people weren't born for that and don't want to become that and wouldn't be happy if they were that. But the NFL is clearly a manifestation of our political culture which uses alcohol as it's lifeblood, alcohol which causes liver cirrhosis and throat cancer and domestic violence and DUIs and birth defects and which is celebrated at halftime while people who take an alternate approach to sobriety using pot are shunned. This is decreasingly true over time and has become much more socially acceptable recently but really in NFL culture is clearly seen as unacceptable. That's mostly because it's base is largely old people.

However, many times you'll see someone in rehab (although rehab for pot is very rare) and they will talk about life in a way that makes it sound like sober living is some euphoric ephemeral experience entrancing their senses with amazing beauty. You can pretty much guaranteed all of those people will relapse very quickly. Sober living is a grind, there's no relief at that point for reality, which is always harder in the day to day living than it is in the abstract. You'll even see ex heroin addicts talking about how recapturing their lost lives was harder than the withdrawal itself. That's what ex pot users face, and being an NFL player I'm sure is far from stress free.

When Josh Gordon was in rehab last year talking about what an amazing dinner they make there and how his 30 days away gave him real time to reflect on himself. Right then I knew he was done.

Dorsey is saying he is done with the circus shows

1. Hard Knocks made the team look like a joke

2. josh missed most of training camp

3. Coaches contradicting each other publiclu

4. Calloway busted with drugs in his car

5.  Mychal Kendricks pleads guilty to felony financial crimes

6. Josh injures hammy doing a promotional shoot that wasnt for the team

SF or SEA. He needs to go somewhere with little mouths to feed.

Only one mouth to feed when he's alone on his couch eating Doritos. That's my bet.

So the Browns are guessing he isn't right and cut him.

Phew good news for us. Browns can't guess a single thing right.

Excellent point.

What I am concerned about is how low football is on Josh's priority list.

#Browns
source just told me WR Josh Gordon "just seems like he can't get right. Feels like something is wrong."

Yep. That something wrong is the belief that smoking weed is something you need to “get right” from.

The dude knows that it's not allowed, though.  If true that's on him.

When you're a professional athlete and your job requires you to hold your body to the highest of standards, you should probably not be smoking anything. And obviously a little weed isn't the end of the world, but if it's impacting his ability to show up on time and stay focused in every aspect of training, it's a distraction.

Pats certainly seem like the perfect fit. They desperately need a WR, and playing for Belichick might be the only thing that can help this guy.

This is the core of any addiction: pot, alcohol, sex, porn, betting, reading forums.

Good luck Josh.

Don't think they desperately need anything.  Could happen however - they took Floyd after all the drama
