Paul Goldschmidt 2018 Outlook

Another homer tonight (this time off Caleb Smith in Phoenix). It's June and I think Goldy's back.

Goldy has never stopped being Goldy with a southpaw on the mound. He's run into a bunch of lefties lately, so it's no surprise he's put together a nice little stretch here. For the past month or so (in DFS) I've been deploying Goldy when opposite a lefty and brushing him off against same handed pitchers (even lackluster ones.) This strategy has paid dividends.

Goldie's done F'in around, hope you didn't sell low. 7 for his last 10, hopefully the switch is flipped and he is out of this funk.

So far through 6inning he's 4 for 4 with 2rbis and 3 doubles... Guess who's back?!?

Either back or well on his way. There will be the strong holdouts still convinced he's a bum, peddling the idea that "he likes" hitting in San Francisco. They'll even show historical stats of his performances there...of course they'll ignore his total historical record so as to advance their narrative.

I tried to get Goldy a couple weeks ago, but fish were not biting.

I'm sorry, but if this is referencing me in any way (given you quoted me in the other thread) then please show me ONE time I called him a bum.  Or anything remotely close to that.  I will gladly wait to see your quote of that - given your strong feelings toward this guy.

First home run was off a 85 mph pitch

Second home run was off a 87 mph pitch

Just to keep track. They weren't monsters either. His biggest challenge are mid 90s fast balls

I'm thrilled to say I snagged him on May 23rd for Grandal & Lowrie - he was starving at Catcher & 2b... What a steal!

Sick story.

FanGraphs threw a wet blanket on Goldy's resurgence too

I thought page 13 was even better.

One poster wrote —- He was done

Another wrote —- he wants to move him before he gets caught with his pants down

Hard to envision a successful buy low.

But that's just me.

Goldy was a first-round pick.

You'd need to part with assets to land him. Not crap you picked up off waivers seven to eight weeks prior.

idk

Simple in contemplation, but difficult in execution

If you owned him you wanted to move him. It’s easy to preach from the buy low side of this, that position wasn’t getting borderline zero production from their first round pick.   I wanted to move him in my 16 teamer, just couldn’t sell as low as it would take to move him.  I’m glad I didn’t, but it doesn’t mean that I didn’t want to.  All I’m saying is that it’s easy to say I told you so when you aren’t watching 0-4s with 3 ks for 8 weeks.

Wow...they just keep throwing him 85mph pitches huh?  When will the league ever learn, just throw him heat...he can't hit it anymore!
