I'm using "mild" in an overly liberal sense for sure. I just meant, is it something like a C-Mart injury where he's down for a month? A few months? Or are we talking about something really terrible like Noah's issue last year?

Either way, I don't think he'll have much fantasy relevance, especially if this ends up making them handle him super carefully.

This was Mozeliak after Martinez's MRI.  Certainly reads much different in seriousness than Reyes' injury.  Now, until a timetable is given by the club, it's all just shots in the dark but considering the verbage used (significant), Reyes coming off a serious injury, and how young the player is, I'm going to guess (stress guess), this is a 6-8 week injury at the minimum.  Even if he's ready in to start throwing again in 4 weeks, he'd still probably need 2-3 rehab starts which throws him in the ASB window.  I'd plan on August and at that point (after the deadline), it may make more sense to bring him back as a back end reliever but we'll all have to see..... Doubt he presents a ton of value for redrafters unless may he comes back for a playoff run.....

Drop town, USA?

So sad to think this is a valid consideration given where we were just a few days ago.

Dispatch reports. "Alex Reyes has a significant lat strain," Girsch said. "It is not going to be a couple starts. It's going to be more than a few starts."

Good news for Flehety I guess

im hanging on in redraft (for now).  its obviously a gamble, but say hes hopefully back by the all star game (out 6 weeks), his skill set is still not something you can find on waivers.  until we know more, im not letting someone else stash him....

I would re-think that idea, he's likely done for the year. Syndergaard didn't pitch again after suffering his injury.

I believe Syndergaard had a Lat tear. Reyes has a strain which I think could heal in a month or so and then require a rehab stint. I think we’re looking at max 2 months out. Probably returning late July early August

Lat tear = Lat strain. The GM already said it's serious. We're looking at 3+ months here in my opinion.

if hes out for the year, i would think that information would come out in the next week or two as he would likely need surgery.  theres no one on the ww in my league that i cant wait that long for....

I've never seen lack of velocity equal fatigue, when said pitcher, regained velocity.   I don't expect to see him until after ASB.  Probably in pen, unless cards get short in rotation.   He is dropable, once you lose DL spots.   I hate this

Well, it was a good 4 innings...

ERA wise.

WHIP was 1.25,  should've been 1.50.  hit a batter on 3 ball count.    HB should count same as a walk for WHIP sake.  it's the same thing.  Makes no sense

Reyes is simply put, ELECTRIC ... you hang onto him if you're in a dynasty league. In redrafts (which I don't play) TRY to  keep him, but he'll be approaching drop-able if his injury keeps him out a lengthy time. Even if he makes it back by August you figure he'll spend a few weeks doing rehab on the farm. If he makes it back by July then I'd hang onto him.
