MCL sprains cause some sort of ACL damage most of the time. The whole ACL hank is still intact and stable, but some phases will get damaged. As long as the ACL isn't completely torn, you basically have no limitations. But the risk to suffer completely torn ACL is much higher. Even for worldclass athletes who have superb muscle structure.
