Why is there even a question as to whether he should hit against lefties? He has an OPS of like 1.200 vs LHP this year.  This isn't some platoon bat....and to think they weren't planning on having him in tomorrow's lineup.

Also he's the 7th youngest player to hit a homer since 1965 and the 1st teenager to homer since Bryce Harper (who also homered) since 2012.

He reminds me so much of Oscar Taveras.

Never forget. Oscar Taveras aka "Minor League Guy".

This thread was already popping after his call up, I'm just about ready for rotoworld to explode.

Where did you hear they weren't planning on having him in tomorrow's lineup?  Source? He was in tonight...against a lefty.

Exaulz posted on the previous page that he heard it on the Nats broadcast prior to the game starting tonight. It apparently wasn't etched in stone but was probably designed to not put too much early pressure on him if he struggled out of the gate. I'm guessing their plans have changed and even on the home run call you can hear the announcers saying "so much for him not starting tomorrow night" (or something to that effect).

Hitting a homerun on the first pitch the kid saw, could that be a bad omen?

Yes. It would have been better if he had struck out every time today.

It certainly is, for pitchers the next decade or so.

We went through this in his minors thread.  Seriously, the comparison couldn’t be further.  Heywards profile and stats aren’t even close to what Soto has done, nor does his profile have any similarities.
