Duke Johnson 2018 Outlook

Recommended Posts

Somehow (well, the Browns...) this team went into the season with a solid WR group and now they're plucking guys off the practice squad TO START GAMES. They need to get Duke more involved if they want to move the football. There's no excuse at this point (well, the Browns...)

Is anyone starting him?  I don't understand.  Did this guy sleep with someone's wife on the coaching staff?

Their WRs have fell like flies due to injures and incompetence catching the ball, Chubb can't catch the rock (they tried and he failed) and he's a much better receiver than Hyde.

In fact, he's the best receiver on the roster right now with the exception off Landry.

What's the deal here???

I'm starting him due to byes. TB will put points on the board, he should have more snaps and touches, and the matchup is as good as it can be.

Yes, word around the campfire is that he lives up to his name.

Man, I'm really tempted to pick him up and start him over Hyde, but this coaching staff could pull one over our eyes.

It absolutely makes no sense he's not more involved.

Look at his box score from Sundays game compared to the Wrs last week:

Antonio Callaway

  • targets 11
  • receptions 2
  • yards 10

Jarvis Landry

  • targets 9
  • receptions 2
  • yards 11

Duke Johnson

  • targets 5
  • receptions 4
  • yards 73

Tampa is so bad at covering pass catching backs too.  It just seems like a perfect situation.

hyde just got traded... don't think this changes johnson's role too much though?

Definitely a huge boost for Duke's value...

I think Duke is back to a flex guy with this move.....that said I dropped him last night to grab Eli to play over Watson this week.....

It will be interesting to see his role this sunday. I picked him up to start in my .5 ppr because of byes. Think he could have a good game vs the awful TB defense.

Wouldn't be surprised if we see him find a bigger role within the offense now

Duke or Chubb? How will the split work ?

Chubb on early downs, Duke on 3rd down/passing downs is my (probably premature) guess...

worth it to pick up both? I'd have to drop my backup tight end burton where the waiver tight end right now is mark williams... and i still need to get through my bye

If this guy is available in PPR, you have to go grab him, only 38% owned in Yahoo and he was the RB11 last year in PPR.

Also, Cleveland sucks once again so he will get tons of work in the passing game.

Made a claim on Wednesday, dropped yesterday night after ARI crapped the bed and needed to seek upside in another player. Now this happens. Ain't no way I'm getting him back.

That being said, there's definitely RB2 PPR potential here.
