Dwight Howard 2018-2019 Season Outlook

Recommended Posts

Dwight finished 150 last year, which shows you how low his expectations are to say he had a good year.  His counting stats were solid but unless you’re punting FT/To he’s really not rosterable.  If you’re in a double rebounding league then sure he gains value but so does all bigs, that’s not specific to him.  Now add to that the injury issue and the fact that Washington is dysfunctional.  I don’t think they’re in a rush to bring him back .

Interestingly I traded my Ariza for his Dwight.  So glad I did.  Ariza started slow but has been rosterable.  Dwight will either not play or if he does play he will be unrosterable outside of Punt FT/To teams.

Do you mean you traded your Howard for his Ariza?

Yes, when I stated that I traded his Ariza for my Dwight, I also simultaneously meant I traded my Howard for his Ariza.

Unnecessarily snippy given that you did not initially state that you traded his Ariza for your Dwight. You said you traded your Ariza for his Dwight, which is why he was confused.

My bad, sorry.  I just reread it and realized it didn’t make sense.

Kieff looking like a strong hold

Funny thing is Yahoo didn't put Howard on the INJ list until he was out 4 games instead of 3, so I missed out on Markieff.

Anyone know how long the recovery is?

"Your surgeon may prescribe Physical Therapy after surgery for piriformis syndrome. Although recovery times vary, you may expect to attend sessions for four to six weeks. Expect full recovery to take up to three months."

And there goes my season.

Tweet from Woj

Howard received a recommendation from a nerve specialist in Los Angeles today and may seek further consultation before making a final decision on a procedure that could cause him to miss a significant portion of the regular season.

This makes me happy as a OPJ and Kieff owner

Piriformis syndrome can be painful, but it is seldom dangerous and rarely leads to the need for surgery.

are we drop city on this guy?

I have an IR spot but Markkanen and Barton are on their way back.

I either use it on D12 or maybe pick-up E Payton?

I'm really interested in this, because Dwight is the exact kind of player that if he's out two months you drop and don't care, but if he comes back next week and you dropped (assuming he'd be out), you really regret...

Keep Howard on your active roster for a 1-2 weeks and then put him on IL when you activate Barton?

I'm not a Howard owner but I'll try to trade a scrub for him when Markkannen or Barton get healthy.
