Yahoo 12 Team PPR Leagues - WEEKLY PAYOUTS - $250 to $1000

Recommended Posts

I have multiple Yahoo 12 team Head to Head Fantasy Football leagues I am running. All leagues are set-up exactly the same they just have different buy-ins. Looking for some highly competitive managers to join these leagues that will play all year round. These leagues will only be 12 team leagues. My leagues are on a first come first serve basis. The leagues are set-up to allow 18 teams in the league but only the first 12 teams to pay will be in the league. These leagues should fill quick as all of them are in at least their 5th year (expect the $1000 league.  Its new this year.  Created for managers in the other leagues that requested it) with a strong base of returning managers that usually play in more than one of my leagues. If you are interested in a league email me at gfriley@aol.com and I'll send you the commish's note for that league. If you are still interested after that I will send you an invite to the league. These leagues will payout weekly highman, regular season champ, and the top 3 finishers at the end of the year. League fees will be held through Leaguesafe.com.

None are paid in full yet. As teams pay I will update the post to show how many teams have paid in each league (actually create a new post because you can't edit posts on here)

I would be interested, but bench is shallow and starting rosters seem light. I think this takes away a lot of the skill involved in drafting. If you make these things deeper, I'm interested. But if set as is, I understand.

It's just a different setup than normal.  Some reasons why I use this set up -

1.  Drafting is still important as you need to make sure you are drafting good reliable guys that can play all year and will produce.

2.  It prevents people lucking into late round breakouts/sleepers.  People can say they knew what they were doing when they drafted a late round breakout/sleeper but now you have to prove it. You will have to pass on a more reliable proven guy to draft this sleeper. If it doesnt work out then you gave up one spot on your team. I think it is more luck than skill when you have a big bench and the later round guy you drafted ends up being good. We all read the same articles and see the same projections it's just if you pick the right  late round guy at the right time. Dont really see the skill in hoping the guy you draft is good and then he ends up being good. Draft him early then. And on top of that there is really no detriment to your team if he doesnt work out.

3.  Stops guys from hoarding positions. Specifically RBs. I've seen it ruin leagues so many times when guys draft a bunch of RBs then cant play them all so they make weak trades to balance out their roster. Which in turn strengthens the other team that took advantage of the trade

4.  Forces you to actually manage your team. Especially during bye weeks, which leads back to drafting. If you dont draft properly there is a good chance you could have multiple players off on a bye week. Which could cause you to have an open active roster spot with no player in it on that week. Anybody can swap guys in and out when they have a big bench. With this setup you might have to make some tough decisions. Like drop a guy you may not want to so you can fill all your roster spots. Or if you think he is too good keep him and roll with out a kicker or defense

5.  This helps with injuries. Usually when your first or second round pick goes down it puts you in a big hole as there is nothing on the waiver wire worth picking up and to make a trade is only going to hurt your team worse. With this setup this gives you some decent options to replace that injury.

This is just my preference and my opinions on the league setup and why I do it. Doesnt mean they are right but I think it's a harder setup and makes you work more. Some of my managers were skeptical at first too but after they played they said they really liked it
