Kershaw for Strasburg/Yelich? *WHIR

Recommended Posts

12 Team Keeper League

I would get a first round Kershaw and Michael Conforto

I would give a 5th round Strasburg and an 8th round Yelich

NOTE: It's unlikely I would be keeping Yelich, either way.

Can't see your team, but I would make that trade. Yelich & Stras are solid, but you are gettingthe best player, in Kershaw. Thanks for mine earlier!

I'd do it.  In a battle of oft-injured pitchers, give me Kershaw.

If you’re competing I’d keep Strasburg/Yelich. Also depends on scoring type/needs, but Yelich scores well in all leagues.

I think at this point in their careers Stras=Kershaw in that whoever stays healthy wins. For pitchers that’s a crapshoot and Yelich is the far superior hitter.

If if you’re not contending then Conforto’s price may change my mind assuming he’s probably a great deal given his draft day price.

More league info would be helpful.

Why is everyone taking on a 1st round pick in Kershaw?

Yelich as a 8th is a steal

Yelich side easily

I would not do this trade. Strasburg will be back soon and Yelich in the 8th round is awesome. Kershaw just isn’t the pitcher he used to be and he is a first round keeper. No thanks

I will copy and paste my reply to someone else who asked advice on a Kershaw trade.

When I Look at his stats I don’t see anything that appealing. Plus he has been getting hurt alot over the last few years.

The truth is, Kershaw is good but he isn’t the stud he used to be. He’s had alot of injuries over the last few years.

This season he has

12 games started (3 wins, 4 losses)

69 innings

70 Ks

2.61 ERA

1.04 WHIP

Since his first start on April 15th when he had 12 Ks he only has 1 start with more than 6 Ks.

He still has a K per inning but here are his games this season:

7 innings - 12 Ks

7 innings - 4 Ks

5 innings - 7 Ks

6 innings - 6 Ks

5 innings - 5 Ks

3 innings - 4 Ks

5 innings - 6 Ks

6 innings - 2 Ks

6 innings - 5 Ks

He still has a good ERA and WHIP but he isn’t missing bats like we have been accustomed to.

Call me crazy but I put him towards the bottom of the top tier or the top of the second tier of pitchers depending on how you view the tiers.

He’s just not spectacular anymore.

Sorry for the long post but I’m bored and I don’t like kershaw.

Based on my current keeper situation, it would basically be a toss up between Yelich and Eddie Rosario for my final spot. Both have similar round values, but the Kershaw offer makes the decision for me if I decide to go that route.

For this year, I would prefer Strasburg to Kershaw straight up, and Yelich makes it even easier for me with that keeper value. I would absolutely keep him over Rosario.
