Markelle Fultz 2018-19 Season Thread

Very immature player in a professional league.

Fultz to see a shoulder specialist.  Out at least a week, but I bet it's longer due to his injury history there.  Does this open up a path to minutes for anybody in particular?

He thinks he is Kawhi Leonard or something, just go into rest mode when he is not feeling great.

I think this just gets TJ McConnell back into the lineup a bit more regularly. I would argue TJ should have been playing more before this development anyway.

It's more of a cover for the fact that he is being humiliated on a nightly basis by his mackey sasser approach to free throw shooting.

If this guy sits out is McConnell worth a damn?

I think so, yeah. He’s a quality backup PG.. definitely could put up assist numbers with Butler and Embiid.

A move to the Suns makes sense for all parties involved for either Jackson, Warren, or hell maybe even Ariza. The Suns are known for their med staff in the past and could probably fix Fultz up. They also get their PG which fits their young core. Jackson is young and that is all I can say about him right now. Warren runs and shoots decent from the outside. Ariza is a vet known for his 3 & D. The Sixers choose one and get this over with lol.

What the heck is wrong with his shoulder? You’d assume he’d already have seen numerous shoulder specialists by now. Poor guy... Obviously not fantasy relevant this season, but would love to see him overcome this and get his college shot back

McConnell was a solid streamer the past two seasons. Steals, solid %s, a trey here and there, and an exceptional ast:to ratio. Season before last season I actually just rostered him half the time

They do have Shamet this year and he technically played PG and looks decent and can shoot...but he’s been looking exclusively like an off guard in every game I’ve seen.

Me personally,

i think the shoulder injury is being used as an excuse for his shot.

Not cheering for his demise by any means but that whole debacle last year with reports of his shot being broken, to the mysterious shoulder injury was insane.

i think every time he takes a shot now, it’s a complete mind f--- to see if he still “has it”

It’s a shame and I hope he figures it out but the league moves fast and first pick overall or not, it costs a team money to have players on the floor.

It makes no sense for the Suns. Fultz is a bona fide bust.

He's decent at everything but shooting. If Simmons can run an offense without shooting I think Fultz can drive and dish too.

Have you seen a Sixers game recently? He's awful. TJ McCoonnell is 3 times the player Fultz is right now. Fultz is probably not even better than Canaan. His salary is huge for what he provides on the court and he's just not worth the headache for the Suns, when they can sign proven NBA contributors like Dinwiddie, Rozier, Brogdon, Russell, Tyus Jones or aforementioned TJ McConnell next summer.

I've watched probably ten Sixers games, and if they're giving up Josh Jackson or other detritus like Trevor Ariza it is absolutely worth the gamble.

Fultz still has good burst and can finish at the rim, and he can also kick it to the Suns shooters. Guys like Rozier and Russell want far more money than they are worth. McConnell has a very low ceiling. Dinwiddie might be reasonable, same with Jones.

But running another full season without a distributor would be really, really dumb for the Suns. Booker is not the solution and they are stagnating the development of their young pieces trotting out guys like Canaan or Ulis.

Fultz is a low-risk high-reward gamble.

I'm much more confident in Josh Jackson figuring it out than Fultz. Guards with no jumper don't belong in today's NBA. From what we are hearing it looks like all these twitter doctors were right and Fultz has that un-healable nerve injury and will never be anywhere close to what he were in college. Trading for him and then dealing with all this unnecessary baggage is just not worth it for the Suns.

And Booker very much IS the solution.

The sixers should’ve just sacced up and taken lonzo. You know they wanted to but were too scared cus of all the Lavar and LA talk. Now look what they’re stuck with.

i mean granted, lonzos not really great either and they’re kinda in similar situations. Shot and injury wise...

I feel bad for the kid as well. Injuries aside, I bet the mental stress ain't helping his shooting either.

Trade to him to the Suns!  I agree with that notion.  He still has potential and I think he's just a fix away from being a solid starter eventually.  OK didn't really make sense there, but really who knows with him.  Could be a quick fix could take a couple of years.  The Suns can wait.  If they gave up Warren, the Sixers would jump on that.  I think they would give Jackson, since they have a glut of athletic non shooting types.  Suns need a PG bad, and Fultz could be the answer in a year or two.

Famous 20 year old athlete who will be worth ~$20MM by the end of his first contract and can retire rich at 23 years old and spend the rest of his life eating lobster and caviar every day while banging Swedish supermodels.

I weep for him every night.
