Efficiency

Love efficient players. The Karl Anthony Towns, Kevin Love, Athony Davis, Otto Porter and Gary Harris types.

Now, I did a quick lookup to see what other, lesser known, players are sneaky efficient. I first eliminated all players who would hurt you in a certain category (anybody with a relative value of -1,0 or lower according to BasketballMonster in a certain cat), I then filtered out all players who had an overall negative score to make sure I wouldn't just end up with a list of dudes having -0,99 relative scores everywhere.

The following players are the most efficient Fantasy players for the 2017-2018 season:

Rank Value Name pV 3V rV aV sV bV fg%V ft%V toV
1 1.691283 Anthony Davis 3.01 -0.89 2.44 -0.51 2.33 5.72 2.26 1.40 -0.54

62 0.037955 Nicolas Batum -0.85 -0.03 0.05 1.84 -0.02 -0.29 -0.68 0.63 -0.31

Pretty neat list, I'd say. I was suprised to see some names listed here, but I knew guys like Teague, Ingles, Crabbe, Hield amd Batum were underrated. I like using lists like these when I have to adddress a certain weakness in my team, as it helps me avoid hurting other cats.

For example if you need AST, you could target a guy like Teague, who has a great AST:TO ratio, or Ingles. When you need steals, go for a guy like Jrich, or Rubio. FG? get JJ. FT? Teague. Etc.

Die hard fantasy managers already knew this, but Tobias Harris is the only player who doesn't hurt you anywhere. Barton only (slightly) hurts you in 2 cats,  AD,  Khris Middleto,n Otto Porter, Nikola Mirotic, Marc Gasol and Kelly Olynyk only have threee weak cats.

I agree... I only draft efficient players... even if that kills me :D

Except Lord RoCo... I don't care how bad his FG is... I'll draft him ! :D He's Our Lord

I must be missing something here...some of these players put up semi-disgraceful FG% don't know how they made the list...must be the FT and TO

Do y'all even read?

Don't insult other posters just because you don't know what efficiency means. It has nothing to do with the balance you're outlining and everything to do with performance in FG%, FT% and turnovers. No more, no less.

Gary Harris...not on list lol.

What rankings are you using? Per the BBM rankings I am looking at right now, you missed a ton of guys that should be there and have guys on the list that don't deserve it. For example, Gasol is -1.0 in TO and -1.19 for FG%. Tatum I assume was left off due to a negative overall z score (-0.03). Well Buddy Hield's is -0.14. There are a ton of inconsistencies here. Can you explain where your numbers came from?

Here's guys on your lost that have a -1.0 or worse value cat or overall negative z score:

Covington, Teague, Rubio, Crabbe, Gasol, Murray, Ingles, KCP, Hield, Olynyk, Hart, Johnson, Batum.

Just found it amusing that Rubio is on the list for this supposed “sneaky efficient” list ?

Here's the real efficient players. Or the ones that have most of their value due to efficiency.

Tobias Harris is such a great glue guy, you can plug him into almost any build. I've been targeting him a lot.

I just realized..how does Curry not make the cut of most efficient scorers? Jimmy Butler has pretty decent efficiency as well

What concerns efficiency there is always two principles which I follow: 1) There is only 3 efficiency, but 6 counting stats 2) Draft is by far easier, if you focus on counting stats, then your ranking list have only very few DND players. That said, I usually finish with team which is strong at least on one efficiency cat (FT or FG%). My opinion is, if you draft normally, just tries to get best players, then automatically your shooting percents are near average or one above and other below average.
