Nic Batum 2018-2019 Season Outlook

Recommended Posts

Watching this game against Orlando and he looks really good.  Aggressive, clearly healthy, getting boards and starting the break on his own, and has hit two threes in the first quarter already.

Really thinking he'll do big things this year.

3/3 triples steals and all round great stats at the half. He's good.

In 5 of the last 7 seasons when he didn't have injuries to his left elbow and right wrist, he was always about 14 points, 5 rebs, and 5 asts. That's pretty much what you will get. The new Hornets offense is more suited for his game, so I think he will have a good season as long as he stays healthy.

Personally, I wish I hadn’t drafted him. Hopefully he gets back on track!

edit - stocks are nice though

Yea I’m clearly holding. But not happy with his production. He’s also a hard player to trade.

His jumper never recovered after that shoulder injury. He was a 45% shooter in Portland

+ his shot is broken and that wont change..he is still very valuable in punt %,if you dont punt he can be annoying at times

Why does he so afraid to shoot the ball in this Howardless team?

Do you want him to shoot more? Nah. I'm good.

Anybody getting any trade value with him? Guy is playing super scared it seems like. Doesn’t help that Kemba is killing with iso ball.

Nah I think this is Batum, when you average everything together.  Especially in roto leagues, just plug him in and forget about him.  He's posting top-60 value (in 8-cat leagues, presumably higher in 9-cat) and that's having a "down" season so far.  He looks healthy and the minutes are there.

Any idea why Batum's been on the bench all of the 4th and OT when Monk is currently 3-17?

Wondering the same thing. Seemed to be playing well.

Wondering if he is going to be a 12 5 5 guy anymore. Painful

It's not looking like it.  Traded Kanter for him when I thought Kanter was toast, expecting the 12/5/5 you mentioned above.  Just not taking shots and not sure why.
