Cedi Osman 2018-2019 Season Outlook

Recommended Posts

If you paid anything for him, whether auction dollars or FAAB, you have to hold.  You knew he was going to struggle early and probably (hopefully) get better as the season goes on.  If you drop him now you’re letting your league mates pick someone up for free and capitalize on his best games while you suffered through his worst.  I would ride it out for as long as possible.

Is he the caliber type of player worth burning a #1 waiver claim on him?

I would depending on needs.

I don’t know your team needs.  His FG% is fairly poor and I don’t think it will improve in the short term.  He scores and hits threes, does a little bit of everything which could be what you need or it may not be.  If you’re looking for a multi-cat guy with poor FG% yet upside then he’s your man.  If you need a specialist or can’t stomach the poor FG% then he may not be.

Guys he does not have to have a poor fg percentage all year, you know guys improve. This is his first year getting meaningful run in the NBA and its all going to be a learning process. Again, to define Osman's game 2 plus weeks into a season when we have no sample to fall back on is an utter joke. Give it a meaningful sample size to define the guys fantasy game at least. Mr. Prince in Atlanta had a similar game last year and then took off in the 2nd half and was a top 30 player during that time.

Yeah he's the type to shoot about 44% from the field, I don't expect him to shoot 38% all year. The points, assists and 3s will be great and the TOs and FT% are already bad regardless of which forward spot you play him at.

another bad night.  no stocks, awful percentages, mediocre points and threes.    I'm personally giving him another week or so and if he doesn't pick it up I'm out.  Cannot be killing my team on FG% like this if he's not helping big time in other places.

Spoke too soon. He was rolling in the first quarter

Drafted him and holding on to him. Love is out, JR Smith wants to be traded, Kyle Korver is being shopped. I want to assume the opportunities to score will only increase for Cedi, and with more time he will get better.

they had Cedi running the point a couple of times during the game

the potential is there but as of now, he's an end of your bench guy

Just picked him up, an impatient owner dropped him. Gonna give him a whirl and see how he does for me

I think by season's end, you'll see Cedi's averages around 15 ppg / 5 reb / 3 ast / 1 stl....

His T/o's might be a little high (maybe around 2.5-3.0) and FG% likely around 42.0 FG%...but I think once some of these vets are gone (Hill, Hood, Smith), they're going to let all these guys play and have fun.

Dude gets a ton of minutes every night. He’s showed early on, before KLove got hurt (I know, it was only like 2 (I’m a Love owner ?)), he could produce. There just aren’t many cats on the waiver wire with his potential. Be patient, it’s a long season.

Such a difficult player to own. The potential is there with the insane minutes he is receiving but just not giving you the stats. My gut tells me he isn't going to live up to the expectations but I am hoping it's flat out wrong...Nobody else on the wire that's giving you 32 minutes a game...

You have to hold him at this point. The Cavs org is a complete sh*t show, but it seems like they're phasing out the vets slowly and going into full tank mode. Love is out for a long time and may very well be traded to a contender. This means Cedi will get all the run he can handle because he legitimately will likely be the best player on the team give or take a George Hill.

The potential and the minutes are there, just gotta hope for him to turn it around.

The guy that picked him up two weeks ago is firmly last placed right now... just waiting on that drop from him once the desperation kicks in

I have ridden Cedi this far from draft day (last pick) and watched Crowder get snatched up while I wait. I'm looking at Ariza right now his steals are very enticing. Or if a good mid-level PG emerges I may grab him but I'm getting impatient with young Cedi

shiiyiiitttt, I'm wondering if biting the bullet and just dropping Cedi and holding an injured Will Barton would be worth it -- I'd be down a man for the next 5 weeks or so though, but Boogie is occupying my IR spot.

Patience, people.  You aren't going to find his upside on the wire.  Better days are ahead.  Dropping him for low-upside, fringe league guys like Crowder and Ariza is insane.
