in punt assist which pairing do you guys like better AD and Covington or dipo and embid? dipos pg tag doesn't matter

As much as AD is the best fantasy player... I think I'd rather go with Dipo and Embiid.

Harris is a guy that always seems to slip in drafts, I somehow got him 93rd in one of my leagues.

I would trade Lillard for PG. You don't have any rebounders either. You might need to make multiple moves to make up for that.

It's beyond me man @hipriest69, I tell you :)

WOW @DM45 ! That's just like pure joy of happiness and sunlight ^_^

I'm hearing good thing also about Bamba and WCJ. So I'm really happy right now :)

Reportedly Bamba looks way ahead of schedule and could se some PF minutes with Vooch at C... and WCJ is near lock to start C. :)

My biggest regret is not getting Ayton. OH DEAR SWEET LORD HESUS, I'M GONNA EXPLODE ! :(  GOTTA HAVE HIM !

I drafted below 15 player roster in my auction type (500$) 12 cat leauge.(FGM, FGM%, FTM, FTM% 3PM, REB, AST, STL, BLK, TO, DD, PT)

Last year was my rookie season. I had no idea during the auction draft but somehow I got be the champion with AD, KAT, Simmons core with FA steals like Donavan, Tyreke and Tatum. I have to admit my team boosted up after Boogie and Butler injuries.

This year I decided to use punt assist strategy after carefully reading this treat. I have to thank all the contributers here, especially @BillWalton for his perfect guide of course.

Quote
21
Andrew Wiggins (Drafted for Otto)  Min, SF
$26
23
Julius Randle No, PF
$14
25
Victor Oladipo Ind, SG
$80
28
Jrue Holiday No, PG
$48
29
Blake Griffin Det, PF
$40
30
Paul George OKC, SF
$76
31
Gordon Hayward Bos, SF
$21
34
Kawhi Leonard Tor, SF
$100
39
$5
43
Dwight Howard Wsh, C
$35
53
$8
62
Jamal Murray Den, PG
$19
96
Isaiah Thomas Den, PG
$2
106
Kevin Knox NY, SF
$16
113
Rudy Gay SA, SF
$1

Normally I drafted Wiggins but immediately traded for Otto.

According to the ESPN ratings I am at second place but we all know how misguiding these rankings.

I am happy with Kawahi, Oladipo, PG13 and Holiday but I think I am weak at big man stats.

I will see where it goes during the season but this time my job is harder as a rookie champ. Everybody wants my head.

3s and steals guys are very important in a punt assist team. If you don’t land Dipo or George, getting one of Gary Harris Roco and Jrich is important. Harris is obviously the best of the bunch as he’ll provide high FG% to boot.

In the late rounds the only reliable 3s/steals guys are KCP,  Hield, Baze and Ariza. Ariza’s role is uncertain though. I think KCP will have a good year playing beside Bron and will provide both stats by the boatload.

What im having trouble though are finding bigmen who can provide the heat in the bigman cats but won’t hurt your FT AFTER the Allen Collins and Turner tier. That’s why I think reaching for Ayton is a must in this build. I think the bigs to target are:

Kanter, but no blocks

Whiteside

Poeltl

Zeller

Len, Favors and Nurkic (but watch the FT)

Sabonis and Bagley but no blocks

JJJ but no rebounds

WCJ but might start the season slow

Don’t touch Adams - his FT impact is too big

1st time im trying a punt strategy this year. I hadnt planned it pbefore the draft. Started with JoJo and PG with my first 2 picks. Then i landed G Harris and Jamal Murray with my 3rd and 4th. At this point i thought its a good idea to ignore the assists category. I grabbed D Russel, Roco, Collins, KCP, JJJ... Needless to say im more than satisfied with my picks and the way my strategy worked. When you are punting assists it usually helps in T/Os reduction as well, so thats a plus. You cant avoid drafting at least 2 pg eligible players, so here are some good choices Lillard,Walker, Irving, Bledsoe, Murray, D Russ, ,DSJ, P Bev.

Also, two things that must be mentioned in this thread:

1)When you punt a category, it doesnt mean you avoid players with high assist numbers while targeting players with low ones. You just completely ignore a specific category and focus on the rest. Its possible at some point in your draft, that your best choice for your next pick to be someone with high assists numbers even though you are punting them.

2)Changing your mind about punting midway into the draft, doesnt work. When you punt you have to stick to it till the end.

Auction. 12 team h2h 9 cat (we use FTs made, not TOs as our 9th category). We also don't use standard positional requirements (league has been around for longer than most of you have been alive which explains the oddish structure).

$260 Budget (keeper league so plenty of inflation...)

My 4 keepers going into the auction were:

Donovan Mitchell $4 (Keeper)

Enes Kanter $4 (keeper

Gary Harris $2 (Keeper)

John Collins $1 (Keeper)

POS PLAYER SALARY ELIG

RES Mario Hezonja SF | NY 3 G-F-C
RES Emmanuel Mudiay PG | NY 2 G-F-C

I tried to get Embiid, but someone that knew I wanted him and had tons of cash and was annoyed with me bid me up to $100 so I just stuck him with Embiid. I was willing to go as high as 85, but once I knew the other owner was dead set on making sure I didn't get Embiid I just kept going until 99.

The same thing happened with the same owner and Ayton. Only this time I was willing to go up to 55-60 because it's a keeper league and I think Ayton will be a 75-85 player the next couple of years.

DIdn't want Mudiay but was  trying to get another owner to bid 3 so I would be able to outbid him on Bridges, turns out he didn't want Mudiay but also didn't want Bridges.

Ive finished all 3 of my drafts and every single one was a punt assist team haha. This one is the latest and probably my favorite. 12 team H2H 9cat

Guards -- Josh Richardson, Luka Doncic, FVV

Wings -- Khris Middleton, Gary Harris, Danilo Gallinari, Cedi Osman

Bigs -- AD, Gobert, Millsap, WCJ, Jaren Jackson, D Favors

Went rookie crazy with this one.

This is what I got. 12 team 9 cat h2h. Got lucky early  and was sniped heavily in mid rounds. Have since added Collins to IR and picked up Len, Also swapped Hood for Ariza via waivers. I have a two trades I sent out involving Fournier and  Batum. Trying to find some 3-d wings and see who will bite.  There was a ridiculous run on centers in second and third. Haven't seen anything like that so I reached a bit for a big in collins. First time running this build... think im okay but definitely in trade market for some defensive stats. Any suggestions/ comments?

Just drafted my last league of this year (6 leagues total). This one is an auction Yahoo 12 team 9 cat Roto league. The top players went very high (AD for $80, Giannis for $80, Harden $77, Curry $72, KAT $69, KD $67, LBJ $66, Jokic $60, Llilard $61 etc) When the smoke cleared of the feeding frenzy of the top players and second rounders, only a couple others had cash left to compete with me. I paid what I considered a fair price for Leonard ($54), and fair price for CJ ($30), but a lot of the others came in relatively cheap, and I ended with a very strong punt assists team. Did punt assists in 4 of my 6 leagues this year, but this is probably my strongest team of them all.
