He had value in punt builds prior to his injury. He's been ownable for the majority of the season.

punt builds lol? punt what, every category but blocks?

how do you justify holding a player from 12/14 - 1/13 with the below averages?

Oct/Nov - 4 Rebounds - 2 Blocks

December - 3.8 Rebounds - 1.5 Blocks

there were guys available with close to that  block average with better stats all around...he literally sat out a month...

but again, hes worth owning now, so if you did weather that storm, well done...but you really never had to becuase he could have been picked up recently

sorry to say but youre logic has all been skewed, just like there are 3pt specialists, there are blocking specialists. and his blocks can win u blocks on any given week... whereas a 3pt specialist will not be able to just because of how plentiful 3s are and how scarce blocks are.

Who was available with that block potential because I was looking all year? because meetch never was (he only got dropped in my league because of the ankle sprain + desperation)

Its debatable whether he was ownable much earlier. I had him for about a month dropped when he was not increasing playing time then he got injured for a bit and his ownership % got extremely low. I didn't need the blocks at the time so much that i was willingly to live with so many 4 pt 3 reb 2 block games. For a team that only wanted the blocks it could have made sense to hold him. I was lucky enough to get him back the first time he showed life again, im sure many others were not so lucky.

he had 9 blocks on nov11... u dont drop a guy like this lol

again he can WIN you a category on any GIVEN week. that instantly makes him not droppable

Also if you were smart and DIDNT NEED blocks, you can leverage him into a trade w/ someone who does.... hes even MORE valuable to the right owner.

Ya but he could also lose you weeks when they were close weeks in points and rebs. He also was tanking ft% hard for a stretch that made me more happy about the drop but even that looks like he has improved and also managing to not take many per game. Anyway, the past is really irrelevant. Now we have the same blocking beast, well more with more mins actually, but with near double double average lines incoming to go with it and the mins/usage to rack up some nice steals as well

I am punting PTS, 3s and FT%. He is Ranked 16 overall for the entire year and 4 overall for the past month in this build. He was a top 20 guy as soon as he started getting burn after the first couple weeks of the season.

ok, well cmon man, thats abviously only going to pertain to VERY minimal amount of people then....

idk why you would actively build a team punting 3 cats though...youd have tons of 5-4 weeks getting you nowhere...depending on your setting etc.

you dont need to finish first in the regular season to win the league. this is a great strategy imo if done correctly. gaurantee yourself 4-5cats and u shud be in a decentp osition going into playoffs

i hear ya. i personally could never do that...the difference between 2nd place and 8th place is 5 games in my league....so, if anyone gets a 7-2 or 8-1 week jumps up and if your on the wrong end of that...you could be screwed..

Punting PTS/3s/FT  is one of the best punt builds since you can pick up scrubs from the wire that will provide you value that other managers typically won't need. It's also a great strategy when you draft horribly. Pretty much my go to punt build these days.

i prefer going for a bye and massively increasing your chance to win a ship by doing so. not playing the first week where you can potentially lose is well worth going for top 2 in leagues where there is a bye. If you are in the bye situation too or can tell it's very likely shortly before regular season is done then you can ignore the week 1 playoff schedule so a guy with a 2-4-4- schedule becomes an amazing playoff sched when normally he may have to be dropped during a close week 1.

but i like that everyone has different approaches its what makes it fun. your strategy is also quite risky, going for just 5 cats, because losing 1 can be fatal. If you are very strong in 6 or 7, you can lose 1 or 2 that you normally win and still make it through. I have found more success this way anyway.

Nothing is guaranteed no matter how well you draft.

This is very interesting.  I never punt multiple categories but am interested in learning more about your strategy.  So you're going big heavy and attempting to win FG, assists, steals, blocks, TO, and trying to win 5-4 every week?  Seems like an odd combination that doesn't quite make sense to me, I'd like to know which players you heavily target in this build...

someone else chiming in. from my experience, it's better to not punt 3 cats right off the bat, and to wait until the tail end of the season to make trades to get the focus down to 5-6 cats

While I do agree, blocks should be weighed more heavily where his value lies averaging 3+ past 1.5 weeks along with 8+ boards on good fg% and less than 1 TO.

You don’t start a season off this way.  Running a similar build in one league without punting rebounds entirely; Joker, CP3, Draymond, Teague, Collison, Otto, Rob Cov, Grant, Iguodala, McGee, and Meetch. Started out as a points punt, picked up McGee & Meetch during the season to anchor FG% and blocks.

thank you. i had no idea

Its exactly this type of mindset of "I'm guaranteed to win these 5 cats every single week" that gets you in trouble because I GUARANTEE you will absolutely not win those 5 cats EVERY SINGLE WEEK.  Not bashing on you or anything so don't take it personal.  I used to have the same mindset...well if I draft player xyz then I'm guaranteed to win FG etc every week.  It's simply not true.  There's too much variance in stats, injuries, etc. which is why I say nothing is guaranteed, and thus punting 3-4 cats off the bat = losing proposition imo.  I think it's better to soft punt 2-3 cats, then make changes as the playoffs near to hard punt certain cats.

Not saying that it can't work, I've seen it both work and fail miserably.  I think it lessens your chance overall to make the playoffs, but if you do happen to sneak in you have a decent chance at winning.

I’d love to get on the M-Rob war wagon but not sure I can pay the price... I would have to drop J. Allen, JV, JJJ, or Sabonis and not sure I can do that.

Good luck to all of his owners!

I’d try to unload Sabonis to make room for Meetch at this juncture, if you can take the hit to your FT% and could use more blocks & less TO’s.

Trade deadline has already passed in my league bro, so it would have to be a drop 😩
