Allen Crabbe 2018-2019 Season Outlook

Recommended Posts

Are we thinking crabbe might be able to finally find a groove in brookyln given their fast paced line up?

I can see him getting most of his minutes at the 2?

He seems to just be a 3 pt specialist with low TO, good in the punt ast

This dude is massively underrated in real life. I love his game.  I've seen him shoot the ball with extreme confidence and basically look like Klay Thompson for stretches. He had a game late last year where he was shooting and swishing like 35 footers. Inexplicably his playing time has been erratic often.  With 32-34 mins he's easily a 16ppg-18ppg with palatable efficiency.

The thing with Crabbe is consistency.  He seemed to get better and more comfortable later in the season...but he'll still put up some duds that you just have to deal with.  Sneaky source of blocks from the guard spot and chips in steals here and there.  In March and April he averaged a block a game and put up some ridiculous stat lines.

He had 16 games of over 20 points last season, but had 22 games of less than 10 points (and a bunch of those were 5 points or less).  I think we see more of the same, but hopefully his confidence can carry over and he'll push into the top 100 or higher.

32-34 min averages do not exist under Atkinson lol, hes preserving players for the next season.

I know it's become cliche for us to think Atkinson doesn't play guys over 30 minutes...although it's a general trend because of their depth or lack of talent, it's false.

Completely False.   Even the bench players on the Nets commonly see 30+ minutes/game.

Allan Crabbe played 30 minutes or more 39 times last season, more than half of the games he played in.

Carroll also at 39 games of 30+ minutes (73 games total).

RHJ 34 games over 30 minutes (68 games total)

Dinwiddie?  41 games of 30+ minutes.

Even Joe Harris had 14 or so games over 30+ minutes.

And do you know how those guys then end with averages under 30 mpg on the season? Even more than v that many games with less than 30 mins...

Joe Harris 25.3mpg

Demarre Carroll 29.9mpg

Carbis LeVert 26.3mpg

Spencer dinwiddie 28.8mpg

Dangelo Russell 25.7mpg

Rondae hollis Jefferson 28.2mpg

Allen crabbe 29.3mpg

Jarrett allen 20mpg

What kind of value do you think it’s gonna take to trade for him? Looking to add 3s and I need my token Nets player as a fan on my team lmao.

you should get him fairly cheap, especially since it doesn't look like he'll be ready for the first few games of the season

for example in my 10 team h2h he's currently on the wire, but i'm sure he'll get picked up soon

Shouldn't be too hard.  He's on the wire still in my league as well.

Lol of course that's exactly what I'm saying.  They play half their games over 30 minutes, half under.  What I'm clarifying is for those who think that they NEVER crack 30 minutes on any single game, or that Atkinson hates playing guys over 30 minutes on any given night.  So it's something to monitor, regarding injuries and depth, that if the opportunity is there some of these guys will have stretches of playing well over 30 minutes, just like they did last year, thus increasing their value for that time being.

DJ Joe Harris is hitting and making shots thus making Crabbe a ghost

Crabbe is eating a lot. Will his double-digit scoring be consistent somehow?

Man, my condolences. I got the feeling your waiting for some hot streaks to do some moving.

I wouldn't burn a waiver for him but it's interesting to see how long this streak can last if it even starts to begin with..

He is the highest paid player on the team, I’m sure he will get all the minutes. It was his first year last year getting adjusted, can only hope he turns this year into a productive one. The team looked to get him shots in that Mavericks game and that’s always encouraging, Brooklyn plays unselfish which can only increase his outlook.

His contract means nothing. His contract was the reason the nets were able to make the trade to acquire him. He gets shots in Brooklyn because he spaces and is exactly what the Nets like their wings to be able to do. He will get the normal 26-29.9 mpg that the nets give their starters and important role players. And I say that as a Crabbe owner. He is going to bomb away from 3 because that is what he and the nets do.

True but as a owner if I’m paying him 18 mil he better be the best player on the floor lol can’t say the same for Larry nance tho 🤣 I’m contemplating if I should play him or sit him on the bench the next few games to see how he does

The owner didn't sign him to the contract. Again, this means nothing for the nets. They took his inflated contract because they were rebuilding and could take it on while helping themselves in their rebuild. Trades like that happen all the time now.

my FG% has looked a lot better since dropping him. unless you know you are losing FG% then let others handle the headache.
