Oh you mean guys like PJ tucker?

I think you missed the point buddy. No one is selecting Tucker because they think he is going to score 19 ppg. Its the extras he gets (rbs, threes, steals and low TOs), the shock guys are hoping Malik Monk turns into the next Donovan Mitchell. In Tucker I'm just looking for a solid end of bench guy to turn to when regulars have low game weeks - a roto glue guy. The reason I'm more interested than previous years is the number of triples he is shooting. Another 6 last night. That means 2-2.5 threes per game, which gives him much better value than previous seasons. Even on a down night he gets 9 rbs, 3 dimes and 2 threes and doesn't hurt you anywhere

any benefit from Paul's suspension?

Gordon and Green gain the most from CP3's absence. Tucker won't change.

If he can hit 2 3s, get some rebounds, and get 1-2 stocks a game that would be worth a roster spot. Can’t see why not given he gets 30+ minutes but may be tough holding him over a 2 game week.

think he’s actually better with Paul in the lineup.

35 plus minutes and does nothing with them, that is the Tucker I know.

They put him in the corner and make and stand there on offense, and maybe a few pick and role here and there but they aren’t even trying to involve him. Pretty much using him as a defensive specialist, I had high hope for PJ but until the coaching staff give him some love on the offense, I’ll be watching him from the wire til that happens

Yeah, he is there to defend the opposition's best player. That is his job and doesn't translate to fantasy numbers.

He has always played lots of minutes without producing, I don't know why some people are surprised. At the end of last season he was playing 40+ min, still didn't do much

Also injuries to teammates aren't really going to affect him. If CP3 or Harden are out, Gordon is gonna step up. If more firepower is needed, Green and even MCW are going to see increased usage before him. The only absence that matters is Capela's, because without him Tucker is going to play as C and get 10± rebounds

Hey everyone, please vote here for PJ Tucker to get C eligibility:

Last year in the Larry Nance thread, we were able to get him C eligibility thanks to several people voting. Let's get it done again.

Thank you for those who've voted already. Up to 34th! Please vote if you haven't already. He just received PF eligibility recently, so someone's listening.

7 (!) steals tonight.

He is playing 30+ mins per game, as a PF and occasionally C. He is a starter mostly because he offers versatile defense along with the floor spacing, so  0.8 blocks seems to be sustainable imo.

He's not part of the offense unless he's open for a 3, usually in the corner, or he grabs an offensive board.  He'll get STLs, 3s and not turn the ball over.  Is that enough for standard leagues?

Steals, blk, 3PM, and low turnovers count in 9 category leagues.

can I use him as a steal specialist?

Steals and 3's specialist. I'm streaming him. Rockets will begin the first of a back to back and have good matchups against Brooklyn and Chicago.

He's been pretty good, but I don't know weather to laugh or be sad this dude takes 1 shot in 39minutes of play.

Seems like his stats are tainted with that huge 7 steal game. If you just look at his stats, and didn’t watch him play he’s like a 2-2-1 guy.

He’s a top 100 guy. If you’re complaining about his lines, you don’t deserve him. Quit focusing on the popcorn stats, points is only one cat.

perfect efficiency tonight with 100% from the field and line, albeit on only 2 shots and 1 free throw. But zero turnovers, 11 rebounds, and a three and a block is more than enough value to warrant a roster spot.

someone dropped him in my league, BBM has him as top 50. Worth my #1 waiver?

If he continues to get minutes will be a great source of STL, RB, ~block, these are things a Punt AST build craves.

debating between him and justin holiday for 3s and stls

holiday seems to offer a bit more upside but no markannen and no dunn could hurt his value long term.

PJ seems to be locked into a secure role with the rockets

Also, Holiday will kill your FG% (averaged 37% on 11 shots last year). Tucker seems to shoot better albeit on less attempts.
