NFL Start/Sit Thread 2018 Week 9

This thread is for discussing who you're starting and/or sitting for week 9 of the 2018 NFL season.

Because most non-obvious start/sit decisions depend on roster/format/league-specific context, feel free to include any of these considerations in your start/sit questions. Comments along the lines of "Who's Starting Player A?", "I'm Starting Player B over Player C", etc. in player threads may be moved to this thread or removed, at the discretion of the RW forums staff.

I'm liking the Breida play, and only because Ingram really does have a killer matchup. I just see the 49ers turning on their running game. I'm even considering starting Mostert this week, and it's not because I think Breida won't play. I'm thinking there will be plenty of carries for both.

Ya, it does have a big Kamara game written all over it.

Like a banged up Breida over Richard huh? Mostert is also an option...

I'd start Breida over Mostert... I just don't have him.

As for Richard, it's just hard for me to trust any Raiders with them using so many options. I'd roll with Ingram over taking Richard personally.

I have Ben Roethlisburger but not liking his match. Would you guys start Derek Carr or Dak Prescott over him?

Which DST Houston or Dallas?

1pt ppr & need 2 RB & 2 Flex:

Howard at BUF

Richard at SF

Funchess vs TB

L Murray vs DET - D Cook did practice yesterday

Michel vs GB - Sunday night game & no options if they decide to sit him last minute

Breiday vs OAK (questionable)

C Godwin at CAR

Right now, looking at: Howard, Richard, Funchess, & L Murray. Unsure how much SF will use Breida tonight, even if he does play.

I think I would  go Howard, Murray, Funchess, Richard. If Michel is cleared to play then i would start Michel over Richard.

I would go Amendola, Coutee, Scantling.  I think coutee would be the best out of the 3 but hamstring injuries are hard to predict setbacks, Dalvin cook and Leanord fournette for example.  Amendola has a good matchup and with so many injuries on team he could have a good week especially if stills is out again.

Tough, but I lean Dak. I want to say Carr, but need more than 1 game for me to believe. Dak had a week to work with Cooper & I think it helps open up the offense. At the very least, it will allow Dak to rush more & target Zeke & others in the shorter routes.  But if you want to give Carr a chance, the match up is there for him.

I have him as an option this week too, with Luck out, but think I am gonna roll the dice on Baker vs KC. Good luck!!

The Ravens defense has looked pretty terrible the last few weeks. Outside of their first Pit matchup, they've done well against bad offenses and badly against good offenses. But if you don't like him, I might go Carr. I think he's better than Dak, and I think in a TNF matchup against an SF team with injury problems all over their offense will get a lot of scoring opportunities.

I'd take the Cowboys D. I actually picked them up for the week to start instead of the Ravens since Ten sucks and Pit has a good offense. Denver O > Tennessee O.

1/2 Point PPR

C Sutton or J Brown in the flex?

Kind of leaning Sutton. E Sanders is my WR2 (we start 3 wr's). Thinking both may have a good day and if Sutton breaks out and Sanders has a slow day I'm covered....is this flawed thinking?

Could also roll Sutton over J Gordon....

I wouldn't. TBH, I don't like Ingram's matchup this week, so he's riding my bench. But if Breida or Richard were my only other options, I'd be starting Ingram.

I'm starting Lindsay and Chubb as my RB 1&2 so this is a flex play. Been rolling  Boyd in my flex but he's on a bye. I'm just worried I'm gonna get another sub 10 point game from Ingram. Full point ppr league.

The only thing that might make me change is that it's full PPR, in which case Richard is elevated some. But it's not like Ingram can't/doesn't catch passes.

I think there's risk with any one of the three. But I'd rank them:

Ingram

Richard

Breida

I wouldn't even consider Thomas. First game with a new team, no chemistry with Watson, the floor is terrible.

Ingram has a slightly higher projection in ESPN relative to Thompson, but I think in a PPR game against the Falcons, who have proven to let pass-catching backs gash them, that he's the better play.

Sit Breida vs OAK on TNF? Current WR/RB lineup below.

WR: AB @ BAL
WR: Adams @ NE
WR: Hill @ CLE (was questionable, but should be good to go?)
RB: Conner @ BAL
RB: Lindsay vs HOU
Flex: Ingram vs LAR
Flex: Michel vs GB (Questionable)

Bench: Breida @ OAK, Sutton vs HOU, Ridley @ WAS

Tyrell Williams @ SEA

Amari. With these WR I definitely wouldn't go TE. Tyrell's a little to "big play" dependant with low target volume. I think Amari thrives from a change of scenery.

Siding with Drake and Howard, though Martin will likely have higher usage than Drake. Still like Drake to break a big one.

Need 1 of

Cooper (TEN)

Tre Smith (LAR)

Lockett (LAC)

Parker (NYJ)

Completely up in the air. Siding with Cooper (over Parker) because I feel Jerry will want to show off his new toy on the national stage. Will Butler be on him (hopefully)?

I agree with everything you've said. I'd go Howard, Drake, and Amari as well.

Howard, L. Murray, Richard, and Michel. If by 12:30pm ET Sunday you still don't know whether Michel will in the lineup or not, then I'd switch him out with Funchess. But plan on playing Michel until he's ruled out.

Haha basically the same question I'm asking myself. Other than for me if I start Breida I'd have to sit one of Michel (could be out), Ingram, or Lindsay. In the end I think I'm putting Ingram in the lineup. That's still a good offense and he's still one of the better RBs in the league. I think we're both probably overthinking it.

Wow that is deep. I'd sit Herndon unless McGuire is a no go.

Definitely wouldn't go Carr. I'm high on Prescott, so I wouldn't mind starting him. But I also wouldn't let the matchup influence you too much. That's still a good PIT offense with a ton of options. I think Big Ben is probably the play here, but again if you're optimistic about Prescott I like him too.

I'd go Houston. Just like their overall defense better in terms of sacks and ability to turn over the ball.

Cooks, Evans, Sanders. All great options, but I'd have Golladay a notch below the rest and think Gordon is still a little more high-risk given he's produced over a smaller sample size.

Marvin. With Tate gone should see more targets, after already having a high volume. McCoy's interesting given how Buffalo was using him last week, but sill don't think he's at Jones' level in PPR.

J. Brown. I'd sit Sutton while we figure out how he's really going to produce with DT gone, given your other guy has caught 85+ yards in half of his games played so far.

Ingram. I can't see them using DT too much in is first week with a new offense. Thompson hasn't seen the same volume with AP producing.

Richard. With Breida ailing, and with Beathard being the backup instead of the starter, you can't really trust the SF offense. And Richard is the pass-catching back in Oakland, and is healthy, and the OAK offense should spend a lot of time on the field.

Richard easy.

I'd bench Breida, and depending on practice reports, roll Sutton into your Flex if you don't like the news on Sony.

I'm kind of liking Demaryius although I'm wondering if his production might be down a bit so early because he's still learning his new playbook and hasn't had time to develop timing. It's just I really don't like your other options so much.

Flex Golladay. While I really like Sanders, the Texans might nearly shut out the Broncos offense altogether. Meanwhile, the Lions surely plan to feature Golladay now.

On you're RB... I'll say Cohen.
