Lakers would've had a better record right now if they resigned Randle and never signed Lebron.

Right, Randle would definitely have a 20 game win-pace swing like Lebron   Magic is dumb but that is a wild take

Lakers is playing terrible right now. After seeing their games and the efforts of their players, it looks like there are games when they lack motivation.

I think these are the things they need to do: they need gobert for rim protection, they need kawhi for perimeter defense, they need george for defense and scoring, they have to sign popovich for proper coaching, they need curry for three point threat, kd for isolation plays, kobe needs to come back for clutch moments, danny ainge also as gm, and then spurs mascot for catching wild bats, they also need young cp3 for playmaking and then zion williamson to make their future bright. and yeah of course they need lebron to recruit those guys. lol.

The young Lakers' fates are written on the wall, just like Russell, Lance and Randle.

This is the irony: We had Laker fans on this board talking about how the Celtics were screwed because players remember the Celtics disrespecting IT.  Those same Laker fans don't have a word to say about maybe the Lakers being screwed because they just offered up their whole team, publicly, and basically disrespecting them.

It's gonna be really interesting to see if they can get to the playoffs.

Big difference. IT brought the Celtics out of being irrelevant into the playoffs. None of these kids ever done that.

You're right but I think it's a difference without a distinction.  Either way, they're not showing "loyalty".

Loyalty has to be earned as far as I’m concerned. That goes for the player and franchise. That’s why Kawhi got so much more crap than Porzingis and even Davis. Spurs did everything right and he requests a trade like that.

A second year player on a team that hasn’t done anything hasn’t really earned anything. It’s a little different when you become a fan favorite, lead a team to the conference finals, and play through extreme tragedy and also injury while you’re at it.

The good news for the Lakers is the first 10 games after the break are really easy and a 8-2 type of run is very much in the cards.  They should be able to catch the Kings, because.... they're the Kings.  However, if they can only get into the 8 seed, Lebron can go fishing early this year.

4 games out of the 6/7 seed so that's doable but that may take like 17-8 or 18-7 the ROS.  If not, it's death by Golden State.

During first 10 games after the break Lakers will play Houston, Denver, Boston and Milwaukee. Those are not easy games

All 4 of those games are at home.  Meanwhile the other 6 are vs:  @NO, @Mem, NO, @Pho, a tanking LAC, and @Chi.  The only b2b in that time, Phoenix is on the backside of it.  The furthest West they travel is to Chicago and that game opens a EC swing after 2 days rest.  That's as easy a schedule as you can hope for considering.  You try and split at home and sweep the under .500 tanking teams and that's a nice little 8-2 run.  If they want to be a playoff team, they need at least 6 wins in those 10 and 7 really should be the minimum....

Lakers fans - interested on your thoughts about Rondo. Is the team better off with Ball as the starter? Is Reggie Bullock really a stronger option to start than Rondo? What do you think Rondos minutes will look like when Ball gets back taking the addition of Bullock into consideration?

Ball really bolsters the team's defense, so yes. I feel Bullock is only a temporary starter until Ball comes back, and Rondo has been benched since he will eventually will be coming off it anyway. I'd look at the minutes Rondo played with Ball healthy earlier in the season as an indicator as to how much he'd play. Bullock won't be playing point with the second unit, since he's meant to be a shooter.

When is Lonzo even coming back as I highly doubt his 4-6 week timeline. He is a trade piece so I think they will take their time with him. Plus when he does return, Lakers will perhaps be out of the playoff picture.

They just lost to Atlanta.  That was supposed to be an easy win

And beat the Celtics @ Boston, so mediocre teams will have good wins and bad losses.  Look, this is the good news.  The schedule is manageable right after the break for a little run which would get them right back at the edge for the final 15 games.  The bad news is they are an extremely inconsistent team and the trade deadline may have broken them.

On the road Bucks are 19-9,  Denver 14-14, Boston 14-13, Rockets 13-14. It is possible, what will happen remains to be seen.

At the moment, LBJ can recruit only AD, KCP, Simmons, Bledsoe, TT and JR (he is perfect for the team now). Guess why...

Good game against Bucks tonight until last 3 minutes, when  Bucks went on 15 to 2 run.  To me  it looked like Lakers did not want to win this game.

LeBron was really upset at the end, you can he him fuming walking through the tunnel

that Luke Walton timeout killed them. Mike Budonholzer called for a surprise full court press as the Lakers were in-bounding it from the back court.

It led to a Malcolm Brogdon corner 3-point.

Things aren't just going really well and I'm not excited anymore about their playoff hopes.

If it was ever a time for LeBron to run out the coach, now it would be the time to do so. Tyronn Lue would be an upgrade of a mind at this point.

They play no defense so it'll generally come down to how they shoot.   They're not a great shooting team from distance either.  Bullock has really helped but still not great.  They also are a really poor FT shooting team.  It's really interesting to watch as Lebron really looks like he's starting the decline.  He's still a great player but is he undoubtedly the best player?  Really has become a lazy defensive player.
