it's not the size of the contract it's the structure of the guaranteed money and duration, the steelers like to front load them and have the option of cutting you on the back end. . come on guy stop showing me you don't know what you are talking about

stop fighting the facts Conners is showing everyone he is a good rb when given the opportunity, that is nota reflection on he is a better rb than Bell, that's just nonsense

Sorry. Catching up. But how is that any different than any other contract in the NFL? They are all front loaded to reduce the cap number in the early years.

It was a meaningless last series since they get ball back in the 2nd half guys. Zero reason to have Conner in that last drive of 1st half.

Conner played 2 snaps the entire 2nd quarter.

Conner was benched to show Bell, we don’t have a problem benching Conner to clear the way for your return. Biggest game to showcase Conner and they bench him? Come on. Bell is coming home. Mark my words.

So that’s what a organization does? Bows down to a no show? Let’s get real.

Willie Parker?  Dude was fast and a couple 1000+ years, but wasn't built for hits and once he lost a step was toast.

They obv were afraid of giving him 70000 touches today combined with Sunday so they prefer he gets majority of work in the later part of this game as it appears they will be running the ball second half.

The organization would do well w/ 2 stud RBs.  Why put all the eggs in one basket?

Seems like the org is warming up to LB on twitter talking about "want him back badly" & LB is chatting up his teammates during the game too.  Something might be cooking.

From twiiter

Before you panic:

#Steelers owner Art Rooney said of Le’Veon Bell before game: “At this point we expect him to come back next week.”

If PIT expects Bell back, don’t they want to know what they have in ALL their current RBs before potentially cutting one? Also: it IS a short week

somehow the fantasy boys have forgotten that the Steelers are excellent at acquiring great talent in the skills positions.

People act like conners was supposed to suck or something and now Bell is some sort of JAG player.

Bettis-mendenhall-parker-bell and now conner are just a handful of top rb's they have had and i wont even bother listing the wr's they have had over the years

Oh so you knew Conner would be a top 5 running back this year?

You just listed all the succesful RBs the Steelers have had the past few decades. What about all the numerous ones that failed?  Chris Rainey and Jonathan Dwyer come to mind since they got endless opportunities to prove themselves. Numerous others have failed. WRs?  Dri Archer, Sammie Coates, Markus Wheaton, Limas Sweed all highly touted guys that the Steelers missed on fairly recently.

I don’t even know what you’re trying to argue or prove. Nobody thinks Bell is a Jag and just cause you get playing time for the Steelers doesn’t automatically translate to production like you claim.

This is looking like a blowout. Sitting Conner here and there is not a sin.

That said - 2nd half will be pivotal.

Steelers just showing Conner that any RB will succeed with their O-Line, warning him to not get a big head when his rookie contract is up.

I was more worried that Conner was hurt than anything. If he is not hurt than its whatever.

I doubt Conner is hurt. Probably just spelling him considering they were up 17 with a few minutes left before half
