Kyle Tucker 2019 Outlook

Recommended Posts

Worst part of this call up is that we're probably during Reddick's hottest point in the season (or close).  I don't think he's going to get consistent PT.  If it's a deep daily league, sure there's value here in a good hitter with some speed in an elite lineup.

Kinda hope Tucker is average or bad to depress his redraft value in 2020. I still like him.

I expect he'll be in the lineup today, but with Houston facing lefties in 3 out of 6 games this week I can't pull the trigger.

I made the add last night, none of us actually know what the playing time will be yet. I wasn't letting a 30/30 guy go on one of my opponent's rosters for the playoffs.

On the bench today with Reddick not even in the lineup.  Ominous.

Because it's a NL matchup. Hinch said he will get a start this weekend I think and if he proves himself he'll get more playing time.

Will be a guy I will probably go to if Springer goes to the concussion IL as I expect.  Reddick will probably continue getting ABs on LHP as Hinch is evidently trying to rotate rest throughout the lineup.

basically tucker would need to hit hr every scrap at bat he gets in order to actually get from benchwarming

FG grades his speed at only 40/40. Does he steal successfully because of good instincts?

I find it hard to imagine he will run much playing in HOU.

Four hits and 2 steals yesterday , lead off today with springer out. Should make the postseason roster but who knows. If you bought low in dynasty after last seasons bad debut I think you did well.

What do you think we'll see in terms of playing time this coming week vs Tex and LAA?

Wish we we knew as he could be a very attractive playoff add in many leagues, if he doesn't sit 3 games or so. You would think they might want to start resting some regulars and at the same time get a better idea what he can do now. If they give him some decent leash to close the season he could be lightning in a bottle for them come playoff time, as good as HOU offense is you can never have too many hot bats going for you.

I think he probably plays 1/2 the games left, just a guess. Dicey in weekly league depending on options.

Real chance he breaks out in the playoffs and has himself a moment.   Man, the Astros. Favorited (for me) coming into the year. Added their best hitter mid season (Yordan) and got Greinke to be their 3, and now have a potential breakout OF in one of their few weak spots.

[...] With Houston only playing five games this week, though, in addition to playing time concerns, I'm not terribly optimistic about his prospects for the week upcoming.

He has already caught Reddick in steals and I am quite sure Tucker will hit more than 10 homers if given a full time shot. I see no reason why Kyle Tucker should not be this team's starting RF in 2020.

Steals dont really matter in real baseball, but Reddick has been a slightly below average hitter for the past 2 years now. That seems like it can't last long on a team like the Astros, especially in the OF.

Hope he gets ABs next year, he produces when he actually gets to play.

Oh he will. Wouldn't be surprised if he started playoff games over Reddick this postseason.  Every single one of these homers is killing his sleeper status for next year.

I hope he gets benched so he can be in the running for roty. Astros better bench him. No real reason to play him.
