Yup. He should be owned and started everywhere IMO. Too much potential here.

Only 23% owned in Yahoo.. I assume people are worried about Hedges getting playing time too but since Mejia has been called up they have used him almost every day.

Sitting for a 2nd straight day.  This could be what it looks like going forward.  Closer to a split in PT than a clear #1 & #2 catcher rotation.  He will need to hit to really separate himself I think.  Here's hoping he does.

Watching this guy catch is painful, just absolutely dreadful. Can’t even catch normal pitches clean.

.302 Avg .804 OPS over the last 30 days. Hopefully it's starting to come together for him.

He is really hot right now. Since July 1, he's hitting .345-11-4-10-1 in 87 AB. He doesn't walk a lot, but he's only struck out 16 times in his 91 PAs since July 1.

This kid is a legit hitter. Hedges is a good defensive catcher, but Franky Mejia is lightyears ahead of him with the bat. So I bet he plays. If this were 1984 where stolen bases actually mattered maybe not.

He actually has a great arm (70 tool) , he does lack in receiving skills but that can be taught.

I think there is all kinds of potential in this kid, but right now Hedges is an excellent defensive catcher. He's such a bad hitter the Pads have to find a way to develop Mejia, who I think the world of because as you said some of his skills can be developed. But at the same time that's not a guarantee either. Either way Mejia will be in a MLB lineup pretty consistently for the next decade in some form or fashion.

He went 0-4 last night, but in his last AB he had a HR stolen by Kiermaier. Great great catch by KK.
