Brimful of Upside

Landry Shamet Season Outlook 2018-19

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this bloke is the Aussie rules version of John Georgiades or Adrian McAdam with a huge haul of goals in a debut of a fleeting career, but geebuz, 24 minutes, 8 treys 15 shots (more than any other 76'er)....firstly who is he, and will he be the trey-bomber that the 76'ers may have been lacking?

Or playing Washington who got pantsed, is it just a kind of fluke?

I watched the entire game. I don't think Shamet amounts to much. Washington looked awful, and he benefitted from JJ being out and Simmons finding him for some wide open shots.

I'd chalk this up to a fluke more than a breakout. Nice bench player in reality for the Sixers though.

I agree, more of a fluke kind of game.  He was just hot and everything was going in.

Not surprised he can have games like this.   He's a good 3pt shooter with a quick release, but he's behind Reddick in the depth chart, and the Sixers have a few 3pt shooters.  I like him, does a nice job coming off the bench, but his D isn't strong enough for a lot more time.  Not a 3 and D guy, and doesn't do a lot else.   Possible he develops more down the road, he's just a rook still.

I dropped Ante Zicic for Shamet in my deep league. I think Shamet could be good, he did play in crunch time with/ Gallo, Beverley, Lou Will* and Trez. This is a wait and see situation, but the Clippers are going to need other players to score besides Trez, Lou Will and Gallo. Additionally, dont forget that veterans like Garrett Temple or even Patrick Beverley could impede on Shamet's PT and progress...

Another add here.  While he may basically be a guy for 3's and Points, he shoots 3s so well that he should provide some really nice production there if his minutes stay around 25 or so in LA.

He is shooting 40% from deep on 4.6 attempts per game and was getting decent minutes with the 76ers.  What is not to like?  As KilloWertz notes, he should be solid if he gets 25 minutes per game.

was debating, picked up crabbe instead, both are 3 pt specialists, but it looks like crabbe has bigger outburssts

This is the correct thread. Use this.

Shamet averaging 16pts 2.5reb 2.5ast 1.5stl 3.5threes 0.5tov on 56/58/88 shooting over his 1st 2 games as a clipper. Shamet > SGA at this point.

So clippers have a very good playoff schedule. He has a fantasy friendly game.. and hes starting. Is he worth a hold? Or are we overthinking here.
