Miami Dolphins 2019 Outlook

Recommended Posts

Still in search of a coach. Not sure what direction they are even leaning. It's hard to believe Kris Richard is a serious candidate.

Todd Monken is still out there. Nice offensive minded coach.

I'd like to see the Dolphins be good again. They need a really good Deal coordinator and coach but I don't know who is left that would be able inspiring hire at this point.

Should be fun to watch Adam Gase and the Jets play Miami this year though.

Six names have now emerged as candidates: Flores, Bieniemy, Dolphins special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi, Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, ex-Titans coach Mike Munchak, Cowboys defensive assistant Kris Richard

yuck.

might as well interview Nathaniel Hackett and Darrell Bevell for head coach

Dolphins gonna hire Brian Flores.

Terrible hire for a "floundering" franchise.

Forgive the pun

Don't see this one working out for very long. Horrible pick up

Boston college LBer

Didn't play in the NFL

Been a defensive assistant in NE since 2004.

Was the DC for NE this past year but not sure he was calling the plays.

That's all there is.

Yeah I didn't think there was much. Kind of an odd hire if it happens.

Whats the hit rate of hiring ex pats staff? Can't imagine it's too high

Off the top of my head I can remember:

Charlie Weiss, Romeo Crennel, and Matt Patricia.

Josh McDaniels tried and failed and is now scared to try again.

I'm sure there are more.

Coaching with Belichick doesn't make you Belichick as many are finding out the hard way.

Eric Mangini also failed. Bill O'Brien is a success I would say.

Fun fact: Noone from the Belichick coaching tree has ever won a playoff game.

I'm thinking the pattern continues with this hire.

Brett Bielema, who hasnt coached defense ever in the NFL and who was Arkansas and Wisconsin head coach becfore this will be the DC for Dolphins.

Jim Caldwell to OC.

Caldwell will be interim head coach soon.

The AFC East love to hire themselves some Belichick assistants as HC's. So far, none of them have panned out. Even outside the AFC East I don't believe any of Belichick's coaching tree have had much success. Bill O'Brien maybe the best of the bunch.

Whoops:

I'm guessing the undisclosed health issue is he woke up and found out he's employed by the Dolphins?

Since he's probably not worth his own thread, is Parker and/or other Fin WRs undraftable in all but the deepest leagues?

I predict they play the afc championship on the road after going 16-0, then winning it all vs th redskins

I suggest to put $.50 on that in Vegas. If it pays off you won't have to work for the rest of your life.

Offensive guru Gase tanked the Dolphins offense last year.  Had least amount of plays/game at 55.  No other team had been that low since 2005.  That will improve and one would hope Fitzpatrick or Rosen can be better than Tannehill.  They will likely be trailing in games.  Stills, Wilson, and maybe even Parker can be good value in deep leagues.  Don't sleep on them.

I'd be more concerned about Jets under Gase.

I have Stills and Parker estimated around 700 yd (Wilson a bit less); that makes them around WR50-60, in line with their ADP. They are slight sleepers, but let's not pretend these will be league winners.

Better make sure their kicker takes some drills on what to do with a botched snap.   Can't be too careful
