Ezekiel Elliott 2019 Outlook

Don't hate the year. . hate Zeke for being a numbskull  and not maturing into a responsible man 🤣

I do agree he is a knucklehead and I think he is a lock to get suspended at some point. This just seems like such a minor things that is amplyfied x100 due to the times we live in.

I wont be in a spot to draft Zeke anyhow.

The interesting thing is there is nothing from zekes upbringing that screams "problem" in terms of violent/deviant behavior. Both of his parents were college educated athletes, he had an upper middle class socioeconomic background with the equivalent education and he was a 3 sports star.

Maybe he has 'affluenza" and a hyper inflated  sense of entitlement?  😂

if the incident was done in isolation I agree however  as it is another in a pattern of incidents  and specifically AFTER an official suspension, it is probable that Goodell takes punitive action today to impress upon zeke that there is a zero tolerance policy for his behavior.

Logically it would make sense because the NFL is making an economic investment in zeke as a face of it's brand. He is an NFL celebrity as long as he is the starting rb for the Dallas cowboys. You can't have your stars being filmed in public being aggressive with their gf/wives and bullying security guards half their size and then in handcuffs; it turns off the fanbase to an extent and sullies your overall brand.

Women see that video and see a potentially abusive bf, certain men see that video and think he is being too alpha and many see a privileged rich football player bullying a small security guy doing his job.

There is a reason why the personal conduct policy is vague and open ended and frankly if he is suspended the NFL fanbase wouldnt be upset.  . only Dallas and zeke fans😂

......I'm very curious to see how the NFL treats this with Zeke vs Tyreek.   There isn't video of Tyreek, but there is a clear history and audio to which your explanation could apply easily to Hill, just as it does Zeke.  It has my interest for sure.

= alcohol problem, IMO.  Hard to ever know how excessive, but his pattern of stupidity has been coupled with alcohol from what i've seen.  That is a problem that can cross all lines and social status

yes the audio is what kills  hill, i dont see how the NFL gets around that without taking some sort of action and the public scrutiny but this is why Goodell is paid 30mm yr.  . . to make the hard decisions 🤣

There's little doubt in my mind that he took some Ecstasy or some other drug in Las Vegas.  He admitted he used "party" drugs at OSU.   Now he's at an EDM festival in Vegas.  Certainly drunk.  I just can't imagine him not partaking in other means of recreation.

Wait what? How are the two related?

i was mostly saying this ^^^^ type of explanation could also apply to Tyreek's situation, except in Hill's case its not video but audio.  So I'm curious to see  what the eventual outcome will be for Zeke and for Tyreek.  I think it's possible both could be viewed in violation of the Conduct Policy

If he gets suspended for bumping a guy that is the stupidest thing ever. Period.

It was  not a bump, it was battery according to the police who detained him and situations like this shouldnt be discounted for a person who has a documented history of deviant behavior. Policemen dont put handcuffs on a man for a 'bump". . 👀

Now suspension may not be the answer but the  NFL/team should address this with him and implement a policy going forward outlining what action will be taken if he continues to behave in such a manner. Now of course you would have thought the 1st suspension would have been the lesson learned. . 🤣

According to a statement from the police, some of their officers were working at the Electric Daisy Carnival festival when they “observed from a distance an adult male, later identified as Elliott, push a security officer to the ground.” Police said that the security guard “who was the victim of the misdemeanor battery, refused to press charges and officers escorted Elliott a short distance away and he was released.”

A bump, technically, can be a battery but no reasonable prosecutor would pursue this case.

I don't know where to begin with the bolded assertion, other than to say it's patently false.

Bottom line, barring some incredibly draconian disciplinary action, Zeke should be fine.

I meant the assertion that "policemen don't put handcuffs on a man for a 'bump' " is patently false. They handcuff people for much less, but that is peripheral to the central point of whether Zeke will be suspended, so I'll just leave it at that.

With Hunt getting 8 I can't see anything less than a 6 game suspension for zeke.

Lol yup same. College parties. Sometimes cops just need to get control of a situation before assessing it.

I think the fact that he already has a history with the league for off field issues is certainly going to factor into whether or not he gets suspended.

Personally I think it wasn't that big of deal, but the league may think differently because of his past history.

Or maybe he's taken 300 blows to the head for the past 5 years?

Edit: I mean, we from our comfortable position on the couch call them "touches", but it's usually a bit more than that.
