I got a sleeper alert saying the Dolphins are actively trying to trade him. Might be worth to hold on for a couple more weeks.

I doubt they'll get much for him but they might as well take what they can.  Definitely don't drop.

Hey, after just 10 carries in two games, the guy's fresh!

Someone dropped him last week and I picked him up.  Didn't watch either games.  Is he getting low carries because dolphins are trying to preserve him while shopping him or just the team is so bad they could never establish a running game?

The split with Ballage, how horrible the team is, the being down two scores within the first 10 minutes of each game.

There is no positive outside of his catches. I think when they play a worse team maybe, just maybe, he might be useful.

This plus the coaching staff doesn't realize his talent.

There will never be a point in the season where they'll play a worse team. Drake screwed until hopefully the day he gets traded. Question is how long are we willing to hold for that to happen? 2 weeks?

Maybe he's just not that talented? I dont know to the average football fan he is but to the coaches he's not.

I didn't mean a team worse than them. I meant a team worse than the Ravens or Pats 😊

That is probably it.

I mean Adam Gase was an awesome coordinator with Denver and is proving to be one of the best talent evaluators in the NFL and he wanted nothing to do with Drake.

Then Flores and his staff have evaluated Drake and don't think very highly of him either.

What teams would even trade for a guy like Drake after 2 exceptional head coach and talent evaluators like Gase & Flores have deemed him borderline unplayable?

Probably none. RBs are replaceable assets and all Drake has shown in the NFL is that he can be easily replaced by any 3rd down pass catching specialist type. No reason for any team to give anything of value for him.

He has produced when given the bulk of the carries and he's young. I don't believe that he's a JAG. That said, I dropped him because this team is going nowhere and cannot even sustain 1 running back, let alone two. Think Mixon's situation with the crappy O Line in Cincy but as an added bonus, 2 backs splitting the work.

Texans sent a 4th round pick for Duke Johnson. Drake is a comparable player.

Really a 3rd... and in any event the dummy Bill O'Brien isn't in the market to overpay for another RB so it's going to be tough.  I'd be surprised if this guy garners more than a 6th.  We don't really know if he can play since he's gotten so few reps.  And RBs just don't have much value in the modern NFL.

What team that is in need of a RB can help Drake's outlook?

Only two I can think of is Redskins and 49ers.

-49ers have already committed a lot of money into RB, although Drake could be had for somewhat cheap.

-Redskins probably aren't making the playoffs, so I don't see them going out and getting a RB, although the two RBs they do have on the roster have injury histories.

The list is thin right now. Probably need a few more weeks of injuries to a fringe playoff team before anything happens

Washington and Kansas City

I thought about KC but the injuries to both backs doesn't sound all that serious.

Chargers?

Hes a year younger than gordon and has similar measureables.

But Ekeler is doing everything Drake can offer but better at it.

Maybe the don't trade for anyone but it's only week 2 and McCoy and Williams are dinged up. I'd think Andy Reid can't be thrilled with that.

McCoy is over 30 and Williams has a long injury history

ATL can use a good RB.

That's a good point. I'm looking at worst rushing offenses in the league right now. Bottom 5 are ATL, Pittsburgh, Washington, Miami and Cincy. ATL could definitely use some help there.

I have always been a believer in Drake's talent level, despite his criminally low usage the previous three seasons in Miami. He has been awfully efficient with his limited touches every year, even while always playing in a dumpster fire of an offense. His pass catching abilities are what stand out about him especially. I think that whatever team trades for him will be looking to add that aspect to their offense. He is in the final year of his deal and I can almost guarantee he is dealt before the October 30th deadline, likely sooner than later. The rumors are already swirling, the Dolphins should be able to get a 5th/6th rounder for him, and there is no reason to keep him, at least that I can think of. I believe when thinking about potential landing spots for him, we should be looking at teams that lack a pass catching threat or RB depth generally. Off the top of my head the Jags, Packers, Panthers, Redskins, Cowboys, and Falcons come to mind. He gave an interview yesterday and came across as a real team first kinda guy, which is admirable given the situation in Miami and could prove attractive to suitors

FWIW, I do not own any shares of Drake, but I like him as a potential buy-low and am willing to see how it all shakes out. Could prove to be valuable later in the season.

What's everybody think?
